Down 52-18 at the half to Purdue. Don't know how good Purdue is, but you rarely see scores like that even when BCS schools are playing D2 schools.

Brady will have "For Sale" signs all over his yard before long. He's toast. That new AD up there isn't a rookie, and probably not that good of a friend.

I haven't talked to anyone who likes Brady- which is fine when he is winning.

This will be a record low attendance for the rivalry game. I bet we'll be fortunate to get 3500

There are a few...mostly season ticket holders. However unlike Dickey Nutt, who we actually had season ticket holders leave the program for when he was canned, Brady isn't a likeable guy.

He was early, but he's gotten harder and harder for fans to see eye to eye with as we go.

AD just fired the Women's Soccer Coach after 1 good year and 1 awful year. I cant see him holding onto Brady after this season. Not when actual attendance is less than a thousand fans right now. That's less than 10 percent of our arena's capacity.

That's sad. I remember the days when you would routinely draw 8K for basketball games. We never had anywhere close to that level of support. Also you draw 25K to 30K for football. Hard to believe you can't get 10% of that for basketball anymore. I do believe that if you get a coach that wins big you will get a lot of those fans back. You have a solid base of ASU supporters to draw from. I'm really not sure we can ever draw big crowds on a regular basis no matter what we do. We just don't have a big enough base of people that actually care about UALR athletics.

But we have a tremendous amount of UALR alumni living in the Central Arkansas area. There is a huge customer base there. Someone just needs to figure out a way to tap it.

I would guess that we still have not overcome the commuter school mentality. That is a tougher task than you might think. Students at such schools do not think as much in terms of campus life. We are getting more dorms, but I would guess that a large percentage of the student body (just like at Fort Smith) live at home.

The campus becomes home to kids that live there. The student body is their family for a while. They have to find cheap entertainment, most of them. Just a different situation.

I wasn't referring to current students. I was referring to past graduates and students. We have a vast untapped market for our basketball program right here in this area that we're not connecting with. First we have to make the Jack a fun place to go. Then we have to make it affordable for young families. And we need to put a winner on the court. There is no reason we can't draw 5,000 every game. There are plenty of potential fans. We just need how to appeal to them.

So was I. Commuter school students look at the education as a means to and end, and when they get the end (degree), they move on without any particular emotional connection to the school. Alma mater literally means "fostering mother," according to the internet. Students from commuter schools generally do not feel the "family" connection, and thus not the loyalty, to their school. Not always true, but enough so that it is a problem.

However . . . I think a concerted advertising and promotional program can overcome that.

The actual sad part is that our baseball attendance is actually coming close to our basketball attendance. We had four crowds in baseball last year of 1000+ Basketball is announcing 1400 right now, and everyone knows that those are ticket sales and not actual attendance.

I thought we were going to screw around and win at Toledo tonight, led by 14 at one point, but alas, John Brady was never going to allow that to happen, and the resulting 8 point loss was predictable.

And most of those alumni are hog fans who could care less about UALR. It sounds good to say we have a lot of alumni here but it means absolutely nothing.

Worst loss for stAte since the late 1950s. That said, Kenpom has you clowns at #251 and stAte at #259. And we all know which has more room for improvement.

Red Wolves looked much better in the loss at Toledo. Time will tell.

If their school was winning big time and getting national recognition, they might develop some pride in where they received their education.
It's all about developing a winning tradition. People love to be associated with a winner.04-cheers

Nice win by the Red Wolves tonight over Mississippi State.

I watched a good bit of it, and they looked good. Especially their passing!
