RE: UAB situation
If he dares show and tries to speak at the podium, I hope a football comes flying out of the gallery and nails him right between his beady eyes!

It's possible, but not probable by next season in my opinion. Regardless, the damage has already been done.
I think 2015 is gone. But 2016 is still salvageable.
Need to get rid of Watts first.
Second, announce that football is coming back.
Third, petition C-USA for permission to stay as a non-football member for 1 or 2 years while football is reinstated.
Not saying any of that is easy or will happen on its own. But with a little luck, it is do-able.
I think this is our best case scenario at the moment. We are losing players and coaches now, that would be a huge issue. I'm hoping it is reinstated for 2016, but the announcement is made now. Then I hope CUSA excuses the brief disaster caused by watts and things go back to normal. If football is reinstated, there is no way they'll be able to hold back private donations at this point in my opinion.

RE: UAB situation
It sucks for UAB and don't think 2015 can be recovered. What if you wait 4-5 years bring it back fresh. The program building from scratch is tough, would need a staff to be hired in 2 yrs. Start recruiting in 3 and carried that overhead of scholarships and coaches with no money coming in for a couple years. But maybe a fresh start, would energize the community and ralley them around their team that was striped away from them. I guess you do the quick start-up like UTSA. Dam this makes me mad.

Need to minimize the absence. Just one year away in football, and remaining in C-USA for that year. That should be the goal for now. As circumstances change, possibly the goal will change. We'll see.
For now, step 1 is: Watts OUT.

Ncaa should allow any players that transfers out to immediately transfer back if the football program is revived.
Oh, and let you take 12 players of your choice from Alabama.

UAB needs to break away from Alabama like Mary Washington broke away from Virginia. UAH needs to do the very same thing.

Nice. I think a more accurate historical reference would be Vidkun Quisling. Quisling was a Norwegian politician who betrayed his country to Hitler. Hitler placed Quisling in charge as long as Quisling did what Hitler wanted him to do. Watts is Quisling, I will leave you guys to figure out who is the Hitler character in the UAB saga.
Right on! I was just going to post the Quisling example myself when I read your post... what a gut less flunky.
