It was just time before YSU Pres Jim Tressel got a name coach and made a push for FBS. You gotta know Tressel has FBS as a priority. The MAC won't be offering and the Sun Belt is the only game in town.

How long before Youngstown St is in the Sun Belt?

Penguins in the Sun Belt? Penguins? Doesn't seem like the best fit.

400+ miles from the nearest schools. Doesn't seem likely.

I would love to see penguins in d1 if for no other reason then the unique nickname which is pretty ridiculous outside of hockey

Despite being a bit of a geographic outlier, I really think they do have potential as an FBS program.

Thayer Evans @ThayerEvansSI

Just spoke w/ Bo Pelini. Denied reports of being offered or accepting Youngstown State job. "It's all a complete fabrication of the truth."

Let's add one of the Div II Hawaii schools. Maybe the University of Mexico in Mexico City. Get some serious soccer babes into the program. Add boxing. How about Moscow University, they ought to bring in some pretty good hockey.

Sun Belt would be changing their entire approach in adding members if they were to add Youngstown state.

I could see the SBC deciding to add strong teams out west with Montana, Montana St, NDSU to go along with Idaho. Youngstown State makes no sense at all.

If SBC were top lose a few members in the South East .... then the logical thing to do would be create 2 large divisions in South East and West.

As for adding Youngstown State, I'd have to chuckle

And if we add Moscow there would be actual meaning to when I say, "I would root for the communist over App. State."
