Need a little help and thought this would be easiest, I'm writing a sports story for my class and need to know all the years Niu has won the MAC Championship game. So far, I've got 2011, 2012, and 2014. I believe you guys have won 4 in total? What year was the 4th?

InductChuck - Are you doing a general history of the MAC, or a current article and just getting some background?

Coincidentally, in 1983, we had to beat Toledo and BG to lock up NIU's 1st MAC Championship.

The Huskies won the MAC Championship game in '11, '12, and '14. There was no MAC championship game in 1983. The Huskies won the MAC in 1983 by having the best record.

So the Huskies have won the MAC four times and they have won the Championship game three times.

If we want credit for our past you gotta give credit to the Rockets for theirs. It's not easy getting to & winning the MACC as you well know.

Yea i tend to not give a crap about sports championships when I wasn't even alive yet. 1983 included.

Lol...unfair to think about past losses in the shouldda couldda wouldda but nearly posted the exact commentary...

the bomb to Hixon for Akron in 2005 was one of the most unreal plays/series I have ever seen... I think the memory of that play alone gives us newish/semi-new Huskie fans the greatest heartburn when the guys are in a close one...

Miami Oh as well... more because I think NIU was that much more TALENTED than MOh that year and that tipped pass on 4th down that kept the final drive for the RedHawks alive was unreal...

The 2005 plus the 2010-2014 records really tell the story..3-3 ..so many fun memories recently but i think we're a few years away from the win total (obviously) but also the FULL and TOTAL dominance of Marshall in the late 90s / early 2000s....

the 23rd will be a good start
