Shoutouts! - AKEEM
This kid has come to play these last few games...much like the 2012 MACC, he goes for 76 on the ground and a reception for 10 yards. Plus he ran for 60+ against WMU. I feel like he is finally healthy again and expect him to have some big plays against Marshall in the bowl game. I'm proud the kid never stopped working and it's showing right now, good to see him contributing and making an impact again! 04-cheers

Not to mention that badass shoulder he threw into the Bowling Green defender in the MACC, whooo doggie was that a pop! 04-rock

That was a 4th and 1 at midfield and a huge point in the game. I didn't notice it at the time, but rewatching the game later, that play and that hit was when NIU announced to BG that there would be no cinderella comeback. They were going to take their beating and f*^&ing like it.

Wish he would have been healthy all year. Good speed, good blocker, great reciever, and runs harder than you would expect. Happy to see him healthy and contributing when they needed it most.

Amazing to think he was just the designated jet sweep guy during Kill's last year. Kid must have been paying rent in the weight room the last few years.

I will never forget that jet sweep TD he had against Toledo his freshman year. When it happened I asked myself "who was that?"

Enjoy the jet sweep. When we ran it against Toledo, it was called the Jet Asswhip!

A healthy Akeem was just what the doctor ordered for us in the stretch run this year. Look at that Youtube clip, it's amazing how much bigger he's gotten since he arrived in DeKalb. He can dish out some punishment now.

Thank you for that.

That first clip of the Toledo November mid-week night game was one of my favorites games at Huskie Stadium.

Temps were in the 60's...Great crowd both east & west sides with a lot of energy.

I thought about how nice it was for those southern scholls to be able to go to November/December games and have temps in the 60's. (Not that we wouldn't take 40's or 50's in a heart beat.0

My pleasure my friend, I remembered that game to, so I found some of it. Man, NIU football has been so much fun over the past years.

I talked to his HS Coach, at length, at the 2012 Go Daddy Bowl. Apparently, Akeem is one of several players that this coach has sent north over the years. He has more of a long term success plan for them all beginning with a completed degree. I am glad to see the system work well for NIU and a deserving student athlete.

RE: Shoutouts! - AKEEM
That 2010 game was awesome...the crowd shots were nuts. Nice weather, Huskies were stompin', taio Cruz dynamite had the crowd going.

We are starting to become the Atlanta braves...fan base fettingn a little lethargic with all this winning.

Akeem...beast. Not to pat myself on the back, but I did call this before BSU game. We missed his change of pace all year...got him back at a key moment and we started firing on all cylinders.

Don't be surprised if the dude gets a look at the next level. If he stays healthy he's a freak athlete and extremely versatile.

I didn't want to be the first to bring up uniforms, but man the classic red and black looks fantastic.

+1000 to having a healthy Akeem and it's good to see him finish his career strong. Too bad he has been injured the last few years and hasn't had the career he could have had. But he is tough and hung in there. He adds a lot to the offense.

And +1 to the classic black and red uni's. Still my favorite.
