Teams to root for - Bowl Season
Finishing 12-2 and ranked is our new goal. I think we have a decent shot if we win against Marshall and certain games go our way. Teams to root for during Bowl season (in order of date/time) Let me know if any games should be added.

1. Las Vegas Bowl - Utah over Colorado State WON 1-0
2. Potato Bowl - Western Michigan over Air Force LOSS 1-1
3. Camellia Bowl - Bowling Green over South Alabama WON 2-1

4. Miami Beach Bowl - BYU over Memphis Dec. 22nd
5. Boca Raton Bowl - NIU over Marshall Dec. 23rd
6. Bahamas Bowl - Central Michigan over Western Kentucky Dec. 24th
7. Sun Bowl - Arizona State over Duke Dec. 27th
8. Holiday Bowl - (I don't think this one matters, but) Nebraska over USC Dec. 27th
9. Russell Athletic Bowl - Clemson over Oklahoma Dec. 29th
10. Texas Bowl - Arkansas over Texas Dec. 29th
11. Music City Bowl -Notre Dame (ugh) over LSU Dec. 30th
12. Belk Bowl - Georgia over Louisville Dec. 30th
13. Outback Bowl - Wisconsin over Auburn Jan. 1st
14. Citrus Bowl - Missouri over Minnesota Jan. 1st
15. GoDaddy Bowl - Toledo over Arkansas State Jan. 4th

I predict a 9-6 record in our favor.

I've been wondering the same thing, nice post. I also have 9 -6 in the games you've listed.

RE: Teams to root for - Bowl Season
I mean really most of these MAC games are meaningless when it comes to our ranking. None of these clowns will be looking at our strength of schedule when doing the final ranking. We'll be lucky if they even change it from the week prior. They may have already mailed in their final week rankings lol. We should just be really concerned about the teams from 20-30 losing.

It's hard to handle the bowl experience if you aren't consistently getting there.

Seriously, talk to a former player... They could give a **** about the game most of the time.

CMU has zero percent chance of winning their game against a talented team...in the Bahamas.

We've been lucky that our kids go every year and have had unique situation where they have a lot to play for.

Do I really have to root for Western Michigan? They've been a bunch of d*cks toward us the last month (Sorry Todd. You're cool. So's Hiller & MileHigh).

According to ChipDipSh*t, we're the luckiest 11-2 team in college football history.

You should root for all the MAC bowl teams. That makes winning the MAC all the more noteworthy.

You can go back to rooting against WMU when they come to DeKalb, next year.

Actually it's disappointing.

As Huskie_Jon noted, I'll always root for any MAC team to win a bowl because it adds -- even incrementally -- to the value of winning the conference title. However, the next time that schools plays NIU, kick their ass!

The best they'll get from me is I'll "HateRoot" for them. Meaning, I'll watch them with the attitude of "OK, I never ask you a**holes for anything, so don't embarrass us today."

I think Chip & Hoejk are the only two real WMU culprits. Not that NIU is void of any boasting with some Marshall-esque flavor a bit in our forums sometimes. :)

Me and Hoejk have pride & crow riding on the NIU vs Marshall game, so Hare better not sleep-walk the 1st half in this one! Need NIU to play all 60 minutes on-point, which I think Carey will push for. But a lot will be due to D containing Marshall decently and getting some turnovers.

And Hey, remember -- Fleck is "always a Huskie at heart" -- as he said in his press conference after the NIU game. You'd be rooting against your own! Does everyone forget the miraculous catch vs Maryland he made on national cable-TV? :) That catch stuck it to my then semi-recent-ex-gf who moved to Maryland with some guy who loved turtles (and broke sh!t off their fireplace when Fleck made that catch).

Few people including Illini fans will be watching this Bowl game?
Whom to route for?
Illinois vs. Louisiana Tech on December 26th?

That would qualify as the most irrelevant bowl I have ever heard of. I wouldn't even put a betting line on this game with how meaningless it is.

Tech, without a doubt. Their fans were some of the nicest opposing fans I've ever come across.... and man, could those f*^&ers cook. I ate like a king at the Independence Bowl. All it took was a Huskie logo on my jacket and I was the belle of the ball.

Screw Illinois.

How nice! That's how everyone should treat opposing fans. It's a sign of class, respect, and just being a decent human being. I felt that a little at Minnesota and Purdue. I certainly did NOT feel that at tOSU!
