I love these young men so much. I bleed for what has been done to them.

It is uncharitable of me, but I hope that Paul Bryant, Jr, and his co-conspirators get a painful rectal cancer.

Tomorrow morning, we carry all 85 of them, and all the rifle and bowling women, too.

I wish so badly that this could be read at the meeting tomorrow by a faculty senate member. They need to hear this!

Is there anyway that this could be possible?

Don't know. But, at my faculty senate (I'm president pro tempore for my school's all faculty), and according to Robert's rules, most agendas allow for new business, allowing any senate member to raise any topic. Debate can ensue, and new motions can be made. So, as long as a senate member waits for the proper time, he/she can discuss the issue in open debate at the appropriate time.

Thanks to Ray Watts, this is the first time I have ever been ashamed of UAB.

RE: This. This is what we're fighting for.
My daughter told me the story, of the crowd outside of the football office on "Black Tuesday". The e-mail came in about the cancellation of football, rifle, bowling while the meeting was going on inside. She said there was a young student, on the women's bowling team, just sitting on the curb crying her eyes out. My daughter said that girl had a total look of shock on her face. She just found out, via an e-mail, that her sport was gone. Done.

About two years ago, I was sitting in a hotel lobby in New Orleans with my UAB Blazer jacket on. A father and daughter were there checking in and came over and sat down, they noticed I wore UAB and started talking. The daughter was getting an official visit to Tulane for bowling. Next they were going to B'ham for an official visit at UAB. They were from the Midwest so the father was a little nervous about sending his daughter so far away for college but I will never forget how proud he was of her. I was curious about bowling and asked some questions. They spent a great deal of time and effort getting her to college scholarship level, traveling and going to out of town tournaments. Much like my wife and I had done for our daughter's sport. I told them good things about UAB and told them my daughter goes there and is an athlete and she loves B'ham. They listened and we talked and I wished them well. They were both so nice and so excited and so proud. When all of this happened, I thought, oh no! I hope she picked Tulane! I didn't get their name, but what if that was the young girl sitting on the curb crying? Why did I encourage her to pick UAB? Damn. I hope she went to Tulane.

How do you think I feel?

I've been grooming my child for UAB since she was a wee sprat. Now she's a sophomore depending on a band scholarship, and they're still lying to her.
