http://www.footballscoop.com, Coach Haynes has started to make a few changes on his coaching staff.
Here are the changes thus far:
**Kent State: Per sources, corners coach Amp Campbell is leaving the staff.
**Kent State: Per sources, Kent State offensive coordinator/ quarterbacks Brian Rock will not return.
Also, here are some things going on around the MAC Football Conference:
Buffalo: The school has announced the hiring of Eastern Michigan outside linebackers coach Chris Simpson as its linebackers coach.
Buffalo: Missouri State associate head coach/defensive coordinator D.J. Vokolek will join the staff, likely to coach the safeties, according to Thayer Evans of Sports Illustrated.
Western Michigan: Per sources, PJ Fleck and Western have agreed to terms of an extension. Fleck went 1-11 in his first season, and led an impressive turnaround to 8-4 this year. He is 9-15 overall and 7-9 in conference play.
Buffalo: Lance Leipold has hired a number of assistants from his Wisconsin-Whitewater staff – defensive coordinator Brian Borland, offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki, offensive line coach Daryl Agpalsa and wide receivers coach Alan Hensell. He has also retained running backs coach Matt Simon and defensive line coach Chris Cosh from the previous staff.
Buffalo: Per source, Rob Ianello will join the staff at Buffalo in transitional advisory role as Lance Leipold finishes the season at Whitewater. We understand that Ianello only plans to help his good friend, Leipold, out for a short duration until Leipold finishes up with Whitewater (mainly with recruiting) and will not be a part of the permanent staff.
Youngstown State (FCS – OH): Eric Wolford will be bought out of his contract per sources. We have been told that it is a $100,000 buyout. Brett McMurphy first reported the news this evening. Coaches are telling us to expect the new head coach to have direct ties to Youngstown State president (and former head coach) Jim Tressel. Read more here.
Pitt: Former assistant Bill Mottola, who joined the staff with Mike Haywood’s hiring in 2010 and had his contract cancelled upon Haywood’s dismissal, settled his lawsuit with the school for an undisclosed amount according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
Akron: Per source, inside receivers coach / recruiting coordinator John Pont will not return.
