Someone please make sure every NIU player on Twitter sees the first two minutes of this video.

I watched like five minutes. That's one simple, relaxed AD. Pretty sure I would suit up for a bowl announcement press conference. Their coach was complimentary.

You guys should understand that our AD has been beat up over not taking the HOD Bowl against a P5. Has absolutely nothing to do with NIU, the fans are just sick of hearing about not playing a P5 this year. Every time Marshall is mentioned on TV or in the national press the first thing mentioned is that we didn't play a P5 this year. Even your fans have done it on this board already, have seen several posts about us "not playing anybody". That's just code for the fact we didn't have a P5 scheduled.

Personally I, and a lot of other Herd fans, understand that beating NIU is a lot more significant than beating some crap P5 team like Illinois. However, you guys also understand perception, you fight it just like we do. The national media, for whatever reason, views beating a middling P5 team as more significant.

I'm sorry. I've really held my tongue on this as much as I could about their fans being pissed about this bowl, but as I sit here after watching the first 1:30 of this press conference all I can think is... I hope we smoke the ******* **** out of these **** stains.

That AD was trying to do some serious damage control.

Wow to the AD. Seems like he just got back from a jog and was surprised with the press conference.

The Marshall coach seems like a top notch guy.

Yeah ... That AD is a piece of work. His demeanor made it feel like the press conference was about a coal mine disaster.

No kidding, our players need to watch that. Worked against Fresno State when our Huskies had every reason to quit after Kill left. Tuke told our boys that Fresno State had no respect for us, Huskies came onto the field wanting to throw down. We need our boys thinking that way for this game. NIU really needs this win....in many ways.

I love Tuke. Remember him telling the players and coaches do not bother getting on the plane if you are not all in.

Also remember him telling the sideline reporter that he called a late first half time out to prolong the experience of being a head coach.

I wish those bastards would have gone to Dallas to play the Illini. They deserve it!

I am quickly agreeing with DogFan (which I usally do) on this one. I have a bad taste in my mouth from Utah State, Marshall would taste even worse now. Our boys show up like the did in the MACC, Marshall will know who we are. That a$$ on the video was acting like he was coaching USC.... unreal

I remember last year when Marshall had 10 wins and weren't ranked but then they beat a 7 win Maryland (P5!) team and suddenly everybody was like "whoa, these guys are LEGIT. We haven't been giving Marshall the respect they deserve but these guys totally deserve it now. They'll prolly be in the mix for one of the 4 playoff spots next year because the "casual fan" has now heard of the Herd and totally respects them. Like totally".
