George Mason series
Sorry if it was already posted, but apparently Brady mentioned that we will be starting a series with GMCC starting next year. Said he tried to put something together with ODU but it didn't fit

That's good! Maybe we'll finally beat them again...I believe were like 0 for our last 8 or so.

Beat them at some point when Ben Louis was on the team. Don't remember what year he was. Otherwise 0 for a lot.

I think it was Brady's first year because I remember them lifting Kyle Swanson on their shoulders as the fans stormed the court. Kyle was a senior Brady's first year. And, the Junkyard Dog.

RE: George Mason series
First time we played George Mason was my freshman year, Jan 12, 1970. We beat them 116-82. Then we played them on Feb. 18 and beat them 62-58. My sophomore year we beat them on Jan. 6, 125-68 and then we finally lost to them on Feb 23, 65-64. Those were the good old days.

Strange set of scores....was defense only allowed in February?

No, we shot our arms out in January!

No 3-pointers back then either, right?

No 3-pointers except the old fashioned way. I have long held that the 3 point shot was responsible for lower scores.

Different one. NCAA record was my senior year, 10-10 3-pointers by Tre somebody. I missed the hot dog game...believe that was my second year out of college.

I guess I was wrong thinking not scheduling the exiting 3 the last couple years has hurt interest. Clearly we no longer have interest in those teams....

Re: George Mason series
Speaking of the Junkyard Dog, we need another JYD in the program. One of my favorites of all time.

It would be nice to have a "homecoming" of prominent former players all at one game this year.
I know I would attend just for that not to mention the basketball game.

JYD did not play that game, making the upset even more unlikely.
