Interesting. This consultant did a study at Old Dominion in 2009 (on overall athletic department). I guess we just told them what we wanted the result to be and they printed it.

That's what consultants are for. You pay them to support the outcome you want.

RE: UAB can afford football (Vice Sports)
EYE OPENING article! It really leaves me speechless. This situation has turned me into a Bama Hater and as far as neutral parties are concerned i'm probably on the more pissed off side of things. So I can't even imagine what the UAB fans and alumni are going through. But if I were in that camp i'd be taking this article and banging down the door of anyone who can listen saying WTF!

It brings up another point why aren't more schools doing what WKU did?

I figured there was a lot of funny business accounting going on but figured it was an effort to make things look better, not worse!

They missed the part in which the report assumes UAB will pay its football coaches $4.8M in 2019. That is quite a raise from what they pay currently (2-2.5M).

Just sad.

Excellent article. Watts is in the pocket of the Alabama Board of Regents. Get rid of him and save your program.

Yeah. Vice is cool. Al Jazeera America was almost Vice, but I guess it fell through (current tv sale)

Are there any BIG MONEY UAB Boosters who would fork out the money to build a OCS? It seems to me that if this thing is saved from the fire that UAB will need a new stadium to come out of it, and the fans and supporters will need to show up to the games even more.

Apparently the entire state of Alabama is AFRAID of Paul Bryant, Jr. Unbelievable.

The residents of Alabama need to grow a pair.

UAB fans could probably give you better info but a quick search shows that they had $2.7 million committed just for suites when they were denied the on campus stadium before. And that is just for the suites. Throw in season ticket sales and one or two big donations and UAB can easily afford an on campus stadium.

RE: UAB can afford football (Vice Sports)
We had (still have) $15 million committed for an OCS. $10 million for Indoor Practice Facility.

This is not a money issue. I hope that is clear now. Just see the Brando interview and it should explain it all clearly.
