A paper by Maggie Simpson and Edna Krabappel was accepted by two "scientific" journals

That was entertaining, but the other article accepted made me laugh so hard I sprayed my soup all over my desk:

The scatterchart graph was what did it for me, when I realized that as the "list" increased on one axis, so did the desire of the author on the other, which actually made scientific sense!

"My only regret is that the second author isn't Ralph Wiggum."

Thanks for that!
Now I have a quick attachment/response to these solicitations I receive about once weekly.
Yes, it's suddenly become commonplace in medicine as well, and the $459 fee is about par for the course.

The inbox is clogged not only by requests for manuscripts from these "journals", but incessant invitations to join "editorial boards" or to present your data at "conferences", invariably someplace in China.

Bogus scientific stature for sale.

It's lots of other places, too. Anyone have a kid who wasn't offered publication in Who's Who in American Universities/High School/etc? For a small stipend I can be declared a "Super Lawyer"!

Oh gag - - of course - - the now ubiquitous Super Lawyer/Super Doctor/Super Dentist/Super Plumber/Super... scams. Magazines must be making a killing off of those.
