Yet another B12-AAC what-if thread
Just wanted the learned opinion of the folks here.

If Texas and OU decided to leave the B12 for greener pastures, would it take a combination of the best from the AAC and MW to keep the B12 a "Power Conference"?

What teams would that be?

If pick two, I would take TCU and Oklahoma State.

Texas Tech and West Virginia can stick it.

Try reading the question!

The number one choice is The University of Cincinnati. Winner of 5 conference championships in the last 7 years in FB. In BB is one of the Top 20 programs all time. Beautiful campus per various sources. A Top Research Institution. Large TV market.

Now that I've learned that usually half the conference is awarded the championship it's less impressive. I'm actually more impressed with USFs ability to avoid it for so long.

If that were to happen, I see something like this occurring. Move your B12 chess piece to were you like as the B12 would go away. ACC takes B12's place in Sugar Bowl and Orange would get top two P4 teams available followed by ACCESS bowls not in playoffs.

OU and OSU to P12
Baylor and Kansas to ACC
Tx and K State or WVU to SEC
TCU and TT B10
Pac 12 pick out what is left and may raid some MWC teams like Air Force to get to 16.

I agree if UT and OU leave the ACC takes the B12's spot in the Sugar while the Orange gets the top two P4 teams outside the Playoffs/Sugar/Rose

However I don't think all of those B12 teams would find new homes. Most would be left out and become a tweener league between the P4 and the G5. They could poach 6 teams from the MWC and AAC, keep their TV contract around $10M, and keep something like the Liberty Bowl for their champ.

UT and OU can go anywhere they want. Kansas might get the B10. OKSt might be able to ride OU's coattails somewhere. The rest would be SOL.

Somebody is moving them to the Conf realignment board. I hate it over there because I want to talk AAC realignment. Not sure why it bothers people so much to discuss realignment.

I wouldn't mind a Memphis + UCF combo. Love for them to take 4 but if they are barely considering 12 that is a huge long shot. Ucf, memphis, usf, and ecu would give them more east coast viewers.

Plus even if the Big12 competition is tough, we can count on beating memphis.
