Disagree Ham.. teachers have authority over all students at all times. (now was the female teacher there when the "scolding" happened?)

And how do the teachers define "scold"? OH noes, he told the students to be quiet!!

Quote:having said that, the teacher's husband has no business being on school property, and especially not the acquaintance. They need to brought up on trespassing charges in ANY event, and probably assault (unless the sub somehow was threatening to assault his wife).

Assault, trespassing.. and any other charge they can throw at the husband.

Quote:Depending on the events, maybe that guy doesn't need to be a sub... doesn't know how to correct students or work with other teachers... but that doesn't mean that it's okay to assault him. Again, depending on the events, maybe the female teacher doesn't need to be teaching either.

This is the part where the story falls short...

She can't handle herself in a professional situation even with the assistance of the administration so you have to threaten to resort to intimidation?

You need far thicker skin. As a parent, should you be assaulted by a teacher's boyfriend for disagreeing with their teaching style or correction of your child?

People argue on here all the time... should we be expecting a visit from your spouse?

That's all pretty tongue in cheek.... but you don't honestly want us to believe that if someone argues with your wife in a professional setting that you're going to go have words with them? If she worked for me, I'd call the police and you'd get her fired immediately.

Of course they do/you're right... but there are certainly situations where students are under the control of a teacher and doing exactly what their teacher told them to do, but it interferes with another teacher's class anyway... especially a sub who might not do things the same way as the regular teacher. That is a rarity to be certain, but I'm merely not ruling it out. One teacher (especially a sub) generally shouldn't 'over-rule' another teacher controlling her class. If she ISN'T controlling her class (or they are merely 'free' in a common area) then by all means.

So how did you assume, from that, that this was about messing with another man's wife?

He argued with her. If someone did that to my wife I'd pay him a visit too.

But would you cut his ears and face?

No

You'd use karate, right?
