He is a prick that's all. He never hates on La Tech or ULM, just the Cajuns.
Would Tulane drop down if they received an Ivy League invite?
Yes. Immediately. The exit fee would be paid out of academic funds just to expedite the process.
The truth: Tulane's academics look better than they are because they are surrounded by low-scoring public institutions.
Tulane = Boston College in my eyes. There is nothing wrong with that, though - BC is a strong private school that is brutally overpriced (just like Tulane).

Has an Ivy invite ever been persued? The BC comparison is very accurate.

I imagine that you just don't chase something like that. It comes to you.
Tulane remains behind Duke, Rice, Wake (probably), and Vanderbilt in the southern Ivy sweepstakes. If the Ivy wanted to go south it would approach the ACC schools before anyone else.
We're half a step behind the real academic powerhouses - and that's why I consider BC to be a peer institution.

Perhaps but Tulane is still a great University.

Tulane has won a lot of battles since 08/29/05, but I wouldn't say the recovery is 100% complete. Some decline was -- IMHO -- inevitable and looking back from 9 years later, I am honestly surprised that the decline hasn't been more steep and more intense.

Tulane does have an excellent academic reputation which is why I am confused by the quality of your post. You would think that someone that is an alumni of such a well respected institution would provide a higher caliber of content and take pride in representing their institution as best as possible. I suspect (and hope for the fellow Tulane fans and alumnus) that you are actually 'sidewalk alumni' or perhaps you are eleven years old.
I'm not sure what your issue is with ULL, but it is bizzare... Why would you compare public institutions or public and private institutions that all serve completely different purposes? <-- That's a rhetorical question, no need for a response: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhetorical_question
