Since Briles was our coach before Baylor's I read their board.
You would think prior to Briles arrival there that they were clubbing the Big XII teams like baby seals.
Many feel that they need to expand the Big XII so getting left out doesn't happen to THEM again.
So, of course they talk about potential candidates. For everyone's information (breathe easy), nobody from the AAC is deemed worthy by Baylor Fans. Only BYu from the G5 and pair the, with Notre Dame or Clemson, or Louisville or Florida State.
But they know poaching the AAC is not a possibility.
They fail to realize the team they are sharing the Big XII conference title with is none other than 2nd year add-in, TCU.
Nobody from the AAC can compete in the Big XII?..just not good enough. Not even you UCF
I went to the UConn-Baylor game in Waco in 2009 when we blew them out. They were the most polite fans I've ever seen. Real nice people.
Fast forward to 2014 and they now have the dreaded P5 disease. They think their sh-t doesn't stink. Hell, Baylor was supposed to be left out of the Big 12. At the last minute, they were forced in by Texas Governor Ann Richards.
They're very lucky to be where they are.

That comment saying no AAC team can compete in the Big 12 is garbage. When Oklahoma played Cincinnati a few years ago the game was close just one or two plays away from Cincy winning
Cincinnati would compete in any league once in the Big 12 recruiting improves and with a Big 12 schedule attendance will be outstanding. Cincinnati drew 58,000 for the Oklahoma game at PBS..
When Briles moves on to a better gig, and he could after the way he sees how the media treats Baylor when compared to the true iconic schools, they will go back to their 1 and 2 win Big XII seasons.
Briles was Houston's savior and Baylors. But Briles is going to need a new challenge a la Urban Myers. Then Baylor will fight it out with Iowa State and KU.

Any of the Top 25% of the G5 teams could compete in any P5 conference. The main differences are recruiting and money. The key issue is that the P5 teams tell recruits you should not go to an AAc school as they will never play for a NC...ever. And the money helps you keep your coaches or at least hire better ones and pay off the crappyones.
Baylor pre-Briles reminds me a lot of Tulane. Academically, regionally, and athletically. The difference is that Baylor woke up and Tulane remains in a coma.

Tulane is rated higher and has AAU membership, but Baylor isn't out of the ballpark. Perhaps Baylor is an "aspirational" peer to Tulane, but we're not talking about an earth-shattering difference here.

In the end UH, UCF,,USF, UM, UC could all easily supplant Baylor, like TCU. Except we have more to offer than Baylor in terms of location, recruiting grounds, fan base, etc.
Baylor used to look like UAB prior to Briles arrival. Can't wait until he moves on and they hire a Tony Levine type...and I hear he is available.
Eh. I don't think so. Baylor have really reworked the entire program. It's not just Briles and then nothing else. Look at the basketball team - they're good at hoops now! It's a real athletic program now.

Doesn't matter... They offer no market, they bring nothing to the table, nothing... All they are good at is collect a check they're lucky to get.

Academically, SMU is closer to Tulane than Baylor.
The good news is that Baylor added the University of Incarnate Word to their 2019 OOC Schedule. So all the talk of their weak OOC schedule should stop by then.

I think you're reading into it incorrectly. He's trashing Baylor, not Tulane. Baylor sucks.
