Analyzing Marshall
Watched their last 2 games vs WKU (once our game was over) and lat tech in the champ.

2 teams going in different directions.

I was not impressed with what I saw. WKU was coring at will and La Tech was playing solid defense.

I think if we can get our run game going and hare is playing efficient we should score. Seems like they have some athletes on the d line as their strength.

Offense is clearly explosive but I'm wondering if teams caught on to them as the season progressed. Cato is good and he's got great wr's. They like to go down field and seems like they like a lot of screens too. He can beat you with his feet.

I think it's a great matchup and if we continue to progress and play like we did on Friday we have a good shot.

Lind should open with them a touchdown plus favorite most likely and I will stomp it heavy.

Always seem to come down to motivation in bowl games and I think we have a lot and they may be feeling a little let down.

RE: Analyzing Marshall
We didn't face the two best MAC QBs in Toledo's Ealy and BGSU's Johnson so it'll be nice to see if our defense can stand tall against a high caliber QB like Cato. It'll be our D's toughest challenge this year. If our D can't hang it gives me hope how well Hare played in the MACC.

Yeah, we missed UT's Chuck Ealey by 40+ years.

One stat that stands out to me about their QB Cato is the 13 interceptions.

RE: Analyzing Marshall
Why do people keep calling Philip Ely the best QB?

He played 6 quarters and had 7 yards rushing and he was 60% completions and 4-1 TD-INT.

He did almost all his damage vs. FCS team.

RE: Analyzing Marshall
Because he played at Bama and beat out all the other guys at Toledo. Looked to me they should have given that WR a longer look after what he did against us. No doubting what Johnson can do though.

Just cuz somebody went to Bama doesn't mean they're awesome.

He was 3rd string. That's what I'm saying, people keep claiming he's awesome cuz of Bama.

He really wasn't lighting it up when he played.

With the exception of Blake Sims this year, Bama hasn't exactly been known as having great QBs under Saban. A.J. McCarron was a good manager, but nothing special.

Doesn't matter. Just saying we didn't get to play Toledo and BG's No. 1. Now we get to face an elite QB.

I think Arkansas OL and RBs are better than Marshall's

If Marshall's OL and RBs are better than Arkansas', I'd be shocked.

If that was the case, they would have no business having a loss.

I think Marshall is really solid, but I think NIU should be able to get pressure on the QB and limit big plays.

RE: Analyzing Marshall
After watching Marshall I think they are not a good team! Good record but horrible SOS could even be worse than ours.

But should be a good game

We'll find out Dec. 23. I think our guys are going to play well, learned their lesson after finishing poorly last season.

Looking forward to seeing Cam have a big night. The way Saffold filled in for Beebe in Detroit, I can't wait to see more of him. Our OLine has gotten better and better after a somewhat slow start. William Lee continues to impress. Ben Compton has played well too. Don't know the status of Jamal Bass, but I hope he can play. After having such a great career, it's a shame the injury bug hit him. And how about Santa. He's played his best when we needed him the most. Hagan's been money. Wedel too. Brescasin, P Lo, Durante. Damn. I'm gonna name the whole team. Ok. I'm done

Well played! Our D line has been outstanding. I would love to see Bass play as well, but Santa, Lemon and Mays have been real solid as has Folliard. For the most part, this Defense, without any dominating players, have been able to limit the amount of big plays from the opposition. Special Team play may be the key to beating Marshall.
