So the Big Ten which "doesn't contact the bowls regarding outcomes" got the outcome that put three of its schools into the big six bowls by putting MSU in the Cotton Bowl, allowing it to hold onto its Citrus Bowl spot.
But it didn't happen because anybody talked to anybody. Oh, no, it happened by Magic.
And Jerry Palm is wrong about where the Illini end up (Heart of Dallas against LA Tech), wrong about how they got there (MSU being placed into the Cotton Bowl against Baylor, allowing Minnesota to take the guaranteed Big Ten spot in the Citrus), and wrong about OhioU being in line for the Armed Forces Bowl if the Illini didn't take it (if there even
is any secondary affiliation, it must be backing up the American side, not backing up the Army/Big12 side).
Getting that much wrong at once is something.
Jerry Palm is obviously distracted by the start of BBall season. Maybe they should have a baseball reporter take over the Bowl Predictions when the World Series finished.
