RE: Memphis vs BYU in the Miami Beach Bowl
It really doesn't matter what anyone thinks. It's a done deal. Our Tigers are going to Miami to play BYU. Yea, B'ham would have been an easier trip for ALL the fans, BUT, we ain't going there, we're going to Miami. Now, Those that can go should go and have a great time (can't wait to get there), those that can't go for whatever reason, don't go, simple as that.

My feeling is that a 1 p.m. Saturday, January 3 bowl against an SEC team would be better than a bowl game in Miami against independent BYU. That game's played at 2 p.m. EST on Dec. 22. Seems ECU got a better slot and better opponent than Memphis. Any thoughts?

My thoughts too. My opinion is we got hosed. The only benefit to this bowl is non-game fun for the players. In every other category it was a horrible draw.

But doesn't matter anymore. Now just root for a win and then in the off season and next year work a little harder to build on this year's success which other bowls could have helped with better.

Us going to the bham bowl against Florida would have been our debut on the national stage to say memphis tigers are for real. Florida would have been very beatable and we would've had maybe 30,000 fans on national tv. That's how you change perception' of your program ala loserville in their upward climb

Spoken like a true SEC lover. seriously, playing the worst uf team in recent memory and without a head coach AND in Birmingham? Let me guess? You are probably a ut fan or ole myth fan and a part time tiger fan. Anyone with any sense knows our most important audience is NOT in SEC country, but in Big 12 land....and keep in mind many in the Big 12 would like BRigham Young.

This in reality could be a bad bowl for Tigers. This could be more or less an elimination bowl for the Big 12 expansion committee. A poor showing either on the field or in the stands and BYU could get the invite. If we win or a close loss with a large following it may not mean much. But a bad loss would hurt our position in the eyes of the Big 12. Of all the bowls it has the biggest potential both positive and negative for the Tigers.

They will not base who gets in on this game. LOL.

LOL death match for a big 12 spot!!

RE: Memphis vs BYU in the Miami Beach Bowl
It's good news bad news that the Tigers are playing in Miami on that date and time.

Good news is that it seems to be where they want the AAC Champ to play.

We can't complain about success, and success is going to take us further than a three hour drive, book it.

The daytime start before the Holidays is tough. I'm not sure I will get to watch it, I always take off the week between Christmas and New Year's. I'll figure out something. A lot of people in the same boat.
