I'm not upset MT isn't bowling. Just remember Beed... 50-47. I'm happy with that!

Don't get me wrong I am upset we aren't bowling but just don't think you can call it a snub. This is not the travashamockery that 2012 was. So glad to be out of that conference. We didn't earn it on the field this year.

RE: Confirmed - Toilet Bowl
Conference record keeps coming up and brings up an interesting discussion:

What is more important for a CUSA bowl team?

3-1 OOC and 4-4 conference
or
1-3 OOC and 6-2 conference

Both are 7-5 records.....which team should be taken first?

Interested to see responses....

The conference winner. In my opinion, if a team doesn't have a winning record in conference they shouldn't go bowling, SEC or SBC. These conferences have to have some sort of value that ties them together other than P5 vs. G5.

War Memorial Stadium is a decent venue for a bowl game, but the cities of Little Rock and North Little Rock need to get a hold of reality and realize that they will not get to host one of the premier bowls. It's good to set high goals, but you have to be realistic as well.

Good luck to all the bowl teams.

I feel terrible for MT, and especially UAB. I thought the days of conference teams getting left out of bowl season ended with the move out of the Sun Belt.

This is just another reason why C-USA doesn't need to add a team, should UAB be forced to close up shop.

RE: Confirmed - Toilet Bowl
One thing this tells me though is that scheduling tough isn't worth it unless you think you have a legit shot at the Access Bowl.

Our three OOC losses came against a conference champion, a Top 25 school and a historically prestigious school in BYU all with a combined record of 25-11.

If Marshall would have had this schedule they would be in the Peach Bowl at 12-1. But it was unnecessary for a team just hoping to make it back to a bowl game this year.

Lastly, we didn't get snubbed. It just worked out the way it did. We probably should have beaten FIU and we had UTEP beat had it not been a freak of nature play by that one kid at the end of the game. That's life. We didn't do enough to get a bowl.

Too bad you're not in the still in the Sunbelt. At least you'd have company.

Oh, wouldn't say that. Think we will just hang with CUSA. Remember when we were in the Sunbelt we went 8-4 and the Commish sent a 7-5 Western to the Pizza (formerly Motor City) Bowl over us. Now That was a Real Pisser! If memory serves, we beat the Hilltoppers that year, too!

In 2011 we finished 7-5 (7-1 in the SBC) and finished 2nd in the Conference behind Arkansas State. We beat both Louisiana-Lafayette and Florida International that season but they both went Bowling and we stayed home.

In 2012 we did go to the Little Caesars Bowl at 7-5.

In 2013 we finished 8-4 (Tied for the best overall record in the SBC) and beat Arkansas State in the final regular season game. Arkansas State was 7-5 but got invited to the GoDadddy.com Bowl and we stayed home.

This season we are going to the Bahamas Bowl at 7-5.

I am Very glad to be in C-USA. If we had been in C-USA the previous 3 Seasons and had the same record, we would more than likely be playing in our 4th straight Bowl Game. No team in the history of Conference USA has been left out of a Bowl Game that had a winning record.

Yet the sky is falling if a P5 doesn't get a bowl invite at 6-6, when it happens to G5s all the time, heck it even happens to 7 & 8 win teams. It the rule was that you had to have a .500 in conference record to be bowl eligible it would make much more sense and even things out a bit.

You got it backwards beed. It's not a super bowl feat type of win. It's that losing to a team like wkcc is destructive to the program. It's a no-win proposition for us.

If I wasn't already rolling my eyes at the current bowl lineup, I'd love to see a G5 Palmetto Bowl in Charleston, SC.
