Yea, will never ever underestimate how valuable the qb position is ever again after this past season.

Yep QB's are College football.....Another example this season would be North Texas....Gaurentee someone out of the schools that are saying they will be fine next season with their replacement QB will struggle big time...

Tech is 2, WKU is 3. Both are great teams and solid programs. Even though WKU beat us, I feel Tech had the better overall team. jmo.

Remember FIU lost 4 games by 3 points or less and other than the first game of the year, those losses were all on the road. FIU was outscored last season 117-444 this year it was 276-298. FIU also led the nation in take-aways. We lose maybe 8 seniors to graduation.
The recruiting class this year is around #4 in C-USA. FIU is still very young and will be a mostly Soph/Jr team next year but if we improve even 1/2 as much as we improved this season, we're an 8 win team; easy.
I understand. WKU is 14 points away from being 10-2
Not that it matters, Tech is 13 points away from being 11-2. What that says is there were 3 games Tech didn't finish well. Champions finish well. Marshall did.

Excellent point stodgdog. Almost every team is a few close losses from perfection every single year. But in defense of my FIU brethren, his point is in direct response to a comment stating FIU needs help. As I previously said, we FIU fans are not blind homers for the most part when it comes to the quality of our team, but to say that FIU "needs help" is just flat out wrong. We may end up have a losing season next year but I would not be surprised if we are in the conference championship either. This is not the same team from 2013 at all. Again, we have some clear weaknesses (WR and OL, namely), but this team will likely surprise you guys in 2015. BTW, our ugly bird cousins not far north from us are also silently building a great program.

Me either Beed, I just picture him staring at his flap on wrist for the plays as the clock winds to 0 as his WKU career...I love what WT was able to do at Western but as we are seeing at South Florida, the guy is not a great Head Coach...he is a good recruiter and motivator but not a great X's and O's guy...
Also if Jakes got a day with an NFL team than I know for sure BD will have a chance...

ESPN has WK as the #1 lock this Bowl season....go get'em.
p.s. to bolster my improvement point I showed how our marginal points against improved year over year. I'm sure no other school showed this type of improvements.
They do? Where? When I was watching show they had us 18th...That is the curse of death, lol...

ODU has to replace the great QB (and only 1 WR, btw) and it's going to be tougher than a lot of ODU fans want to acknowledge. Even with the talent of Bentley, he's never taken a college snap. We also have to replace the top 3 CBs (though Brown from UAB may help with that)
Redshirted a lot of guys that could have played this year and added some JUCO talent. I expect ODU to have a record somewhere slightly better than this year. 7-5 ish or 8-4ish

Yep, totally a headscratcher... 3-9 but 4 plays away from 7-5.

ODU on the flip side, won 4 games on the last play of the game. Its crazy how close some of these games were.

Rice will be back in championship form in 2015. We will have growing pains in the defensive backfield.

Marshall was 1 play away from being top 15 in the AP and Coaches, and likely going to the Peach bowl, earning every team in CUSA 300k bucks. Thanks WKU lol

RE: CUSA final power rankings
The what if....
if Western had kicked a fg or made 1/2 yard on 2 tries inside the muts 1 yard line Western would be 8-4
If Western had not missed a extra point or went for it on 4th and 1 (or made it) on our own 30 early in the 3rd vs UAB Western would be 9-3
If Western had stopped FAU on just one of the zillion 4th and 6+ yards FAU made ..Western would be 10-2
With that Western would be the Eastern conference champs
But we can go one farther..
If Western had not thrown a pick 6 up 1 late in the 3rd qt @Ill and on their 25 or 30 yard line Western would be 11-1
A lot of games do come down to making one play and most of the time it's a play you will make 95% of the time
