Their fans are probably worse than either Illinois or NU however.

Based on what?

They just have this severe inferiority complex always saying how they would destroy the MAC if they were in it, it just gets old after awhile.

Yeah, I can't forget their mouthy coach was yapping about being able to beat us. He was also livid about NIU getting to host the HS football championship games over isu.

I seem to remember a lot of people views about ISU should they have gotten the State Championships. As for being able to beat NIU, he should think that. As should EIU, SIU...maybe not WIU. ISU did beat NIU, EIU played NIU tough. I would also hope an NIU coach would think he deserves a place in a BCS bowl and could and would win, even though they didn't.

Be careful, soon the ISU fans will be on here, talking about they are the #2 university in the State and how they should be promoted directly to the B1G.

Good for them though, if they are serious about jumping to FBS they at least need a FCS national championship. I'd rather it be SIU than ISU though, that school blows.

ISU fans have the worst reputation in the MVC. If you read the Wichita board they actively mock and root against them. Yeah I need to get out more.

Seriously, not a big fan of ISU and their alumni base but good for them.

Keep winning...come to the MAC with NDSU and then let the 3 of us dominate for half a decade and then go round out the B12 in a 14 team Conf...NDSU, NIU, ISUx2, WVU, Cincy in the North. 4 Texas, 2 Ok in the south and split up Ku/KSU.

Big time Conf, dominant in-state rivalry and geographically in the middle of a big time conference...one can dream!

Not that it matters, but "did" is the past tense of "do" which I believe translates into achieved or completed.

10/11/1980 NIU 18, ISU 28

1980, 2000 it doesn't matter. I just find it funny the way people look down upon them, when they are a division below and then in the next breath talk anti-BCS and say how Northern is frowned upon.

First, it matters because I wasn't even born in 1980 so to me and many others that's ancient history.

Second, that's a terrible analogy. I'm not saying ISU couldn't beat NIU (I think they could). My point was that playing FCS imposes a hard ceiling on you because of the NCAA's rules. The most you can accomplish is winning the FCS title in Frisco Texas (Okay, if you win it three times in a row you can get College Gameday to your town). Whereas if you're a G5 you can play in a major New Years bowl game against a P5 champ and get ranked. It's two different worlds, even if top FCS teams can compete with good FBS teams (and they can). That's what I meant by the tallest midget comment. Some of those midgets can fight, but no matter how good they can throw a punch they're still severely limited by the rules.

Oh, nothing of the sort, I think what rubs fans the wrong way is how they trash your team even though they are an entire college football subdivision lower. It would be like the Toledo Mudhens saying the Tigers can't hold their jockstraps.

It's not just shockernet. Add MVCfans to that list with Muller voting for the Redturds to win the Missouri Valley.

You guys are bashing ISU fans & many people on here are really bad themselves....arrogant jackasses. Pot calling the kettle black kind of thing.

ISU is kind of local for us & I have nothing against them. I have friends & family who are alumni. I will be cheering for them in their championship game. I do think that NDSU will probably win though.

Once upon a time NIU was a better school than ISU. Then ISU blew right passed us with ACT test scores and a better student pool. That is why I am upset.

It's one thing to be arrogant when your team goes 57-12 over 5 years with 5 division and 3 overall titles; it's another when you have no titles the last 15 years (until this football season).

Watched only the last few minutes. ISU did pull off a nice comeback to win their 2nd straight on the road which is tough to to in the playoffs (Eastern WA then NH).

MVFC is the best in the FCS this year with both finalists from that league. If NDST wins it will be their 4th straight and that has never been done in FCS play
