RE: Go Daddy!!
I've been to the GoDaddy, Liberty, Independence, Citrus, BCS Title Game in New Orleans, Final Four in St. Louis, Indianapolis, Houston, and New Orleans.
The only thing I rank ahead of GoDaddy are the BCS in New Orleans and Final Four in New Orleans.
Those events had massive numbers of people and New Orleans beyond being home of good food and partying also has a great setup with so many hotel rooms in walking distance of the party area and stadium.
Mobile is great because the party area is much smaller so 10,000 or so fans has the same crowded feel as a large event in New Orleans and if you stay downtown you can walk everywhere you want to go except the stadium, battleship and a few good restaurants but you have plenty places to eat you can walk to.
The bowl gets the same sort of local attention as the big events in New Orleans. Bars will have banners and flags with your logo. A couple years ago we had a basketball game the night before the bowl and several bars hooked up ESPN3 in order to show it and were pushing that they were showing it.
Mobile is what the bowl experience is supposed to be.

Interested in talking about the Championship game and the NFL playoffs. Arkansas State. offers no realy interest. Would much rather play Western Kentucky in the Bahamas Bowl. not sure how CMU seems to have been offered a better Bowl and not sure I understand how BG is even in a bowl game after Toledo got screwed last year. Didn't BG lose the last three games?
Strongly disagree. Go Daddy is the best of the MAC bowls. Mobile is a great place to visit, and the pregame festivities are first class. I wouldn't dis ASU. They have been successful against the MAC.
I've been to all the recent bowls and have to agree that Godaddy (used to be GMAC) was the best by far.
It's in a very nice and clean city with interesting things to do and places to go. The bowl events are top notch, the speaker at the banquet was great (Terry Bradshaw in 2005), the night-time Mardi Gras parade was very cool. Even the locals, who support this bowl unfailingly, are very interested in talking to the visiting fans about their team, their city, everything.
It was/is the opposite of what the Motor City Bowl used to be and is exactly what a bowl experience should be.
I agree. The people of Mobile are some of the most gracious hosts you'll ever meet.

I love the date. The holidays are all out of the way and being on the weekend, I only have to use a few vacation days. I couldn't care less if the fans of teams other than Toledo and Ark State are "bowled-out."

Date is an advantage.. We're the only game on at the time, and a lot of people will flip over to it just because its football. Its the perfect game to put two very good offenses out there because it keeps fans interested. High ratings means more TV games in the future.

Is that the NFL wild card weekend? I believe the second game is usually Sunday evening.

Second game is at 4:30, will be over by kickoff of our game. In the playoffs the night games are on Saturdays

That's Saturday that does the evening.
There will be a Wildcard game Saturday Afternoon on ESPN and Saturday Night on NBC (Notice that the Birmingham Bowl that Day is scheduled for a Noon start)
Sunday CBS or Fox will have a noon game, and the other network will have a 3:30 game. (Hence Go Daddy starting at 9pm ET)
Its been like this every year.

Yeah I remember walking into Ladd-Peebles one year with my son who is big Broncos fan and our twitter feeds started blowing up because Tebow had just led Denver to an OT win.
