Muschamp and his family wanted to be in Houston, Houston didn't quite feel comfortable with Muschamp disappointed results at Florida so no offer was extended.

Muschamp is getting 1.6-1.8 million a year to be the DC coordinator at Auburn that's more than many pay their HC

If I'm Pitt, Herman and Meacham would be two that I look at.

Thanks. That happened quickly. Meanwhile, Auburn insiders were saying, just before, that Muschamp was signing with Auburn. Both couldn't be right, technically, at the time, yet this morning, both say they are, due to how it turned out. Interesting stuff.

I have no idea, but it seems logical that no offer was extended. If they DID offer him, and he turned it down, then why did he interview at the last minute, anyway? Not enough money, perhaps? He just signed with Auburn for 3 years for $1.6-1.8M a year.

I just dont get why Bo Pelini hasnt come up in Houstons search. The guy was a consistent winner in the Big 10 and was able to recruit... and recruiting people to the middle of nowhere Nebraska isnt an easy task. Ive been out that way, kids from Texas and Florida are used to at least having a major city nearby... its pretty barren out there.

Seems like he would be a good coach for yall. Just wondering.

Because Houston and their fans would rather win 7 games with an exciting offense, than 9 games with a 'boring' one.

Bo Pelini is a class-A jackwagon. Sort of like John Jenkins without the offense.

You know our fanbase, spot on. There seems to be some obsession with a lot of our fanbase with flash instead of substance, but I wasn't for Muschamp too many other good candidates.

I think is not just your fan base that seems to be the theme across college football specially if you are based in a large city and there is competition from other teams.

Awe,gotcha. I am the type that would take a proven winner all day every day and twice on sunday.
Reminds me of being a Libertarian... wed rather have the Perfect Libertarian then a winning candidate. Kills me.

Fortuantely, right now there are several good coaches out there to choose from.

I was told Muschamp was very interested in Huston, but that his Florida results and his choice of offense was a concern... But I'm not 110% sure how true this may be, CougarRed

Funny thing is... I think Schiano may end up at Pitt when Chryst goes to Wisky and I bet he does well there.

Really too bad Uconn didnt get him. Hes not my favorite person in the world but the guy made Rutgers tough and relevant...which isnt an easy thing to do.

Assuming, for a moment, that Chryst goes to Wisconsin, I think Pitt likely takes a very hard look at former Penn State DC/Current WVU assistant, Tom Bradley. Bradley was the "heir-apparent" at Penn State before the Sandusky scandal blew (even though he had nothing to do with it) and is, by all accounts, ready for a HC job. He would have had one by now if he wasn't waiting on the PSU job.

I wish Cincinnati had taken a run at him for our DC job instead of our UConn hand-me-down.

Yes, that's true in a lot of cases.

After a series of disappointing years, there's a general tone from many fan bases that says....."We don't have to win 10-11 games a year, but at least let's be entertaining." Somehow that's evolved into a few musts: must be a spread, must be a hurry offense, must throw it all over the yard; which isn't any more entertaining when you're winning 2-4 games than any other offensive, frankly.

I fully realize that I'm a voice from the past, but I'll watch 15 straight old Wing T belly series plays as long as they result in a TD.
