I was being serious. Until Herman's name had come up, I had no idea who he was or where he had been. When I heard he was bringing Major Applewhite to Houston, I thought, at least we'll have a guy on our staff the coaches love, and then I saw Herman's full resume. Boom! It's like we're playing Texas Hold 'Em (no pun intended) and we've got pocket aces!

We should be absolutely golden for at least a few years.

I'm sure a lot of qualified people interviewed or talked to them or were considered or whatever. It's well known the hiring was made for longevity vs proven quality, that's what the mistake was. We all know that, including the AD and that's why they went the direction they did this time.
