they should be...

no CCG and then declaring co-chamnpions just screwed Baylor, TCU, and the B12.

Unreal

Wouldn't have mattered if they had a championship game. They wanted Ohio St in the game.

Bowlsby handled this very poorly, no doubt. If the politics of that conference were different, his job would be in danger.

He didn’t do it because it would have jeopardized TCU's chance of staying in the playoff. It also would have made the committee look like idiots for placing TCU in the playoff over Baylor. However, the committee saw through the “One True Champ” campaign crap when the B12 announced TCU and Baylor as co-champs. The committee also rewarded the bigger name school (Ohio St) for playing in a CCG. The B12 needs to either expand or implode; football only memberships to 2 G5 schools would still keep the B12 payouts very high….

I don't think it would have mattered.

On College Football Radio they didn't think it mattered either. They felt like he had to "choose between his children" and didn't have any good options.

I think people are overlooking the other issue: by having to champions, the big XII teams split the vote.

RE: My Baylor season ticket holder friends are blaming Bowlsby
It's the Ohio State factor. Had the Big XII champion been Texas or Oklahoma, they would play Alabama in New Orleans. If the committee had to choose between Texas (using this year's TCU as an example) and Ohio State with the same record, the ugly loss to a 6-6 Virginia Tech team would've disqualified Ohio State immediately. A 11-1 Texas with only one loss to a top 6 team (even better if that team is Oklahoma) would be in.

It's business as usual. Ohio State is part of the good ol' boy network while schools like TCU and Baylor are seen as the new kids on the block, especially TCU since they're just 3 years removed from being in a non power conference. Is it fair? Absolutely not. But people react like this is new and none of this has happened before.
