Iverson needs some PT and Josh benching him for the remainder of the game was stupid, stupid, stupid! Iverson was fired up and should have been playing. I’m just about at the end of my rope with Josh. Either he bows up and becomes a real coach or go home.

Period!

Relax. There are about 10 other guys on this team that need some serious PT as well. Iverson got 11 minutes in his season debut and that tech (doesn't really matter whether it was warranted or not; the ref called it) was his 3rd foul. KI had a good effort and may see more PT against OSU. I'm all for constructive critique of the coach (he deserves a lot) but it gets ridiculous to act like every little thing like this is the end of the world.

IMHO Iverson should have gotten more PT last season and he would have been more prepared now. He also could have caused mismatches for some of those SF’s who torched Chris. Thing is coach didn’t even try, and in most of those games we were blown out anyway.

But you’re right Canes I’ll chill. I’m also going to cut my expectations way back.

IMHO Iverson looked like A New Born Deer last year. Not at all the player I had been watching and waiting for outa prep. I mean Comment wise on this kid were like "Maybe next """Ervin Johnson""" lol. But I was buying it! Based on what you could see of his Handles, Vision, Passing and Size. It didn't seem out of the realm.

Josh gets a little credit here, in a weird way. The young man has improved tremendously since last season. But his talents diminished tremendously when he got here. So whatever that means.

Interesting. I know some folks from Connecticut who 'saw' him there in highschool and didn't think all that much of his talents. lol

Potential just because of his size but raw is what they called him. I suppose it depends on who is doing the looking though.

Well you go and look at his game footage if it's still findable and tell me what you think.

I forgot to call UConn people to ask them what they thought before I came to any conclusions.

And what you saw the other night against Bradley is a sample size of what I saw 2 years ago. Not because he was 6-9, but because the kid looked like he could ball at 6-9. By Ball I mean Handle and Pass off the dribble better than most 6-9 guys you'll ever see at the high school lvl.

I will agree he appeared Raw. But like I said it wasn't out of the Realm that this kid could be really really special.

And also most the footage of this Young man from High School/AAU ball that I saw he was playing PG. So I guess if the PE teacher thought, "Jeez I wish we had a better 6-8 PG" Well he or she is a mean teacher. And also I'm positive as a junior he was a top 50 recruit but I seem to remember him being top 25. Not positive about that but I'm pretty sure. Stammers would know.

I'm OK either way with what anyone thinks about Iverson--mostly opinions, after all. The results remain to be experienced.

We all know he's a great guy to have on our team! When he's in there good things seem to happen---except the T, lol.

I don't want to get on a rant on how Pasner manages his kids but...aww what the hell. I hate how he manages the kids. Takes all the fire out of them. He needs to be coaching BYU or something. Doesn't work here.

maybe yes...maybe no...I haven't come to a conclusion yet. Sometimes the reasons that we think he takes someone out aren't the reasons.

We tend to get the ones that are more challenging. I do believe Cal 'sent' Iverson to us...didn't he..or am I remembering wrong? I ain't doing a search. I'm off work. lol.

hah. Now it's coming back. Iverson was talking trash--comparing Memphis recruiting class to Kensucky's. The story got picked up nationally.

Last season Iverson WAS a new born deer and should have been thrown to the wolves (D1 action) so he could learn how to survive. Coach is too impatient to develop players and this is why most that come here don’t get much better.

I’ve been watching & playing bball since the 60’s and to me Josh’s player management (most of the time) is just baffling, and I’ve given up trying to figure it out.

Many rotate players based on a schedule.

Some coaches substitute based on performance. But normally coaches have players they believe in that will get their minutes regardless of performance because they know what they can do.

And our coach does it by feel which means he's in complete tune with our players and what they need to learn and grow.

Josh just exposes himself to be more of a buffoon by saying this. Its like a broke slot machine player that says they can feel if a machine is going to payout. The proof is in the fact that his feelings are too often wrong
