UC, USF, UCF, and.... not sure. Don't think Memphis is that strong. I would go for academics and bring in Tulane if they get the campus stadium approved.

Tulane's new stadium opened up this year...

Personally, I think that the Big 12 should've went after UC and Louisville before the Cards were snatched up by the ACC, UC/UL/WVU would've been a good trifecta. Too late now.

I'm talking another new stadium downtown with a dome. Close to the NBA arena and hotels.

Tulane built an on campus stadium and can't even a stage 10,000 people in the stands per game.

Simple solution, add BYU and Colorado St in the west and add Cincinatti and UCONN in the east.

Stop with UConn... seriously.

UC is a lock. BYU is another island. Can't do it. CSU is the best option as a bridge, but CSU/BYU both doesn't bridge WVA and CSU lost their coach.

Memphis needs a few more years IMO, as does everybody in that midwest region currently available.

USF/UCF is a solid combo. I would go CSU/UC and the Fla combo. Get the markets in there. Get a west division and an east division.

West: KSU/OU/OSU/KU/ISU/CSU/TCU
East: UT/TTech/Baylor/USF/UCF/UC/WVA

I think Tulane is a non starter from a perception standpoint for a B12 that wants to square up opposite the SEC in the Sugar Bowl.

Memphis and Cincinnati aren't too different than a typical ACC school budget wise. Tulane is more down at the MAC level.

Well at least Baylor gets a shot against a Big 10 team and TCU gets a shot against the team that beat Alabama.

Yep and both will be highly motivated too. This was a network job. I do say shame on the Big 12 for not declaring Baylor their representative, but shame on the networks that one of them was not in the final 4 selected. They didn't have the guts to say no to the Buckeyes. F.S.U. was getting in because of exactly what you said about establishing a precedent of using extraneous reasoning to keep them out. Ohio State played in what statistically was the weakest conference of the P5 and had the ugliest loss. The apologists for ESPN went into overdrive to spin the selection favorably. In the end it boiled down to market share and money.

How about shame on Baylor for scheduling SMU, Buffalo, and Northwestern State. They only played four teams with a winning record, Ohio State played seven.

Tulane is a wanna be IVY trying to play FBS football. They built a 25k seats stadium that they can't fill. If they could get an invite to the IVY they would go in a heartbeat.

It's pretty funny, because both UCF and Baylor were stand-alone champs last year, played each other, and now find themselves co-champs this year.

The difference is our conference commissioner was at least up-front and honest about the championship. But we'll have a title game next year, too. Bowlsby is a tool.

The place was packed for the GT game. The problem at Tulane is that the fan base is fed up with the AD and would rather stay home until they decide to actually hire someone worth a damn.

It's all too similar to Pitt in that sense. 2014 CFB fans are not going to sit there and watch garbage. We have a very fickle fan base that is not interested in spending time on a losing program.

Tulane isn't going to the Big XII, so really we're screaming about nothing. The real options are elsewhere.

not to mention that the camera angles give it a high school feel.
