Alabama, Oregon, Florida State, Texas Christian, Ohio State, Baylor.

Out of those six, even though they are unbeaten, I think FSU is the weakest.

this 4 team playoff thing has failed in my opinion. How do we know the best team in the country isn't gonna be left out of the top 4?

It's really stupid. Anything less than 6 is no better than the BCS.

The future will have an 8 team playoff will all 5 major conference champions getting a automatic bid and 3 at-large bids.They might slot the top Group of 5 champion at the #6 spot but I doubt it. But anyway all quarterfinals will be at home. So playing for home field advantage and being conference champions will be critical and one must play a strong schedule or get seeded lower

These are my thoughts, too. However, the top G5 champion MUST get in so that everyone has a legit shot. The final 2 at-large teams and the seeding of all 8 teams should be based strictly on computer rankings, which would remove all subjectivity and bias. This final computer ranking should be based on the average of 10-20 respected individual computer rankings, possibly throwing out the higher and lower rankings for each team to get the best overall assessment of each team. Easy, straight-forward system which removes the ability for talking heads to influence the final outcome.

If we were to use the Massey Ratings, which is a compilation of many ratings systems, this year's 8-team playoff would have been:

1 ALABAMA (1) SEC
8 BOISE ST (22) G5

4 OHIO ST (4) B10
5 FLA ST (5) ACC

------------------

3 TCU (3) WC
6 BAYLOR (6) B12

2 OREGON (2) P12
7 OLE MISS (7) WC

No Florida State fan but they have suffered a ton of injuries and they get everyone's best shot.

They may not have the strongest schedule but they've beaten some good teams.

That was a 10 win Georgia Tech team that rolled Georgia.

which will be why they expand it to at least 8 teams in the future.

Yeah, and they should. That would be good and at that point no one could say they got shafted because in college football if you can be top 8 you weren't really in the mix for the NC anyway.

Out of the 8 teams they would probably always get everyone's top 5 or 6 teams. There could be argument over 6, 7, or 8 but you'd always have the best teams in there.
