RE: Playoffs scenario
TCU was jumped by Baylor and OSU in the Final AP and ESPN power polls. The stage is now set for the Big 12 to sit out the playoffs. 07-coffee3

Either that or they petition for a waiver to have a championship game with a 10 team conference.

Already denied by the NCAA. They don't have the votes for autonomy

RE: Playoffs scenario
They can petition to have a waiver in the event of a tie independent of the waiver to just generally hold a championship game. Which doesn't really matter because even if they had divisions and Cinnci/memphis were in their league this year the championship game would have been #6 baylor vs #9 k-state and baylor still would have won it and OSU still would have been put in because of ratings and the B10 hype squad. A conference who's OOC makes us not look so ******* bad this year.

RE: Playoffs scenario
I look for two things to happen in the very near future:

1) Notre Dame joins ACC Football.
2) Memphis, Cincinnati, Central and BYU two are even four from this group join the Big 12.

A lot depends upon if and how the playoff is expanded...but...I none of that would surprise me.

1) great academics (#25 in all of FBS)
2) we dominate our top 30 TV market, and we're essentially tied for #1 in NYC.
3) a top 30 athletic department with quality teams in BB, women's BB, soccer, baseball, ice hockey, etc., etc.

Our ONLY flaw has been bad FB coaching since 2011. We have just one weak spot, and we pay for it again, and again, and again ...

And geography.

Two PhD students have started a blog outlining how and why a move to 16 teams in the right move for college football.
