Tons of options - Rizzos for unique food, acre, elegant farmer (now called farmer) - they have a beef tenderloin that is cold smoked in central bbq's smoker and then cooked at elegant farmer - it is AMAZING, second line, iris if by some miracle you get in, bounty on broad, the list goes on and on.
Skip rendezvous unless you just want to go for the sausage and cheese plate and atmosphere. Blues city on beale has good wet ribs, the bbq shop on Madison has a great pulled pork sandwhich and amazing BBQ nachos, central has good BBQ nachos, a decent BBQ sandwhich, and very good wings, cozy corner has good Q.
Evelyn and olive for amazing Cuban. I can keep going on and on...
I work out a lot to stay skinny.
Wait. Is that was I was thinking of? It's the place on the corner of Beale and.... 2nd? 3rd? Northeast corner. You walk in on the corner and walk uphill to your table to the left, or to the right into a room that has a band.

For god's sake whatever you do, don't stay by the Airport which is what one guy above suggested.
Unless of course you are looking for hookers and crack...then by all means, the Airport area is your place.

Classic.
Stay at the Admiral Benbow and have dinner at Catfish Cabin. Can't go wrong there.

West Memphis??? Really?? And the airport OMG, get real. Goodman road would be a lot better than West Memphis. I would stay at the Hampton downtown myself. Has anyone tried the new German place in Overton Square? Have not checked the schedule but making a Grizzlies game and a night on Beale would be a great evening. Both walking distance from the Hampton. Doesn't the Zoo have a Christmas light deal going on? Could combine that with a night on the square, just not much in the way of lodging in midtown. East Memphis, downtown and Southaven are where the safe hotels are located with plenty of nearby places to eat. West Memphis is...well West Memphis.

This is a thread that we started last year for the AAC conference. It is relevant still...http://csnbbs.com/thread-680258.html (except for the weather conditions which might be a little cooler for the LB)
