It was a very good story. Really feel bad for athletes, students and fans at UAB. I hope that they would be invited to maybe Hawaii bowl, and players get to have a good time in Hawaii and enjoy their last game. I would also dare that POS University President to set foot on the islands.

I was surprised. They did a great job of interviewing major donors who said they didn't have a chance to do anything to help. They pretty much showed it was a dirty deal and done because of politics. Desmond Howard straight up called it like it was. Also made Ray Watts look like a heartless tool.

Great piece except I did not hear a single word regarding the role played by Paul "Lil Bear" Bryant Jr. in murdering the program. ESPN would not want to tarnish the image that they promote for BAMA and the financially remunerative SEC Network! They have way to much invested in the SEC's and all other Cartel-5 Conferences' success!

I noticed that as well. I think it was Lee Corso that said this was all political and someday the truth will come out. ESPN probably didn't want him to say that but what does he care? He can retire anytime he wants.

I am actually surprised Gameday did the story. I loved the UAB chant in the background. Really sad story. I hope Watts gets fired and the BOT gets replaced. When they interviewed one of their major donors, he said he was never contacted to give more money to save the football program. He said he would have btw. Watts said he did contact all the major donors. Watts is a lair and a total loser.

Little Bear is just a dick.

That was cool and gave me hope that maybe not all P5 fans are terrible and some get what college football is supposed to be about.

I didn't know this story was going to run today and I think they did a very good job with it. I pretty much hate ESPN but I think they were pretty reasonably fair. They were never going to call out Bryant Jr and really they can't. Unless they have cold hard facts that this is all a sham they would get their asses handed to them for saying something like that. But I think if anything the story had a slant that UAB has been done wrong and that the donors and fans and alumni were cheated by not being given a reasonable chance to save their program. I was surprised and impressed by that piece. Here's hoping that's not the end of it and this situation continues to get the spotlight treatment and major news outlets continue to cover this and dig deeper.

Lee Corso's statement about the truth coming out about this says it all. That was way more ballsy and pro Gof5 a statement than I ever thought I would hear from ESPN and especially on gameday which is the CFB flagship program of ESPN and is usually a P5 homer fest.

The Tide is probably the worst of the worst when it comes to the P5 teams - that sad I hope Missou whips them today 02-13-banana

I know Finebaum supports the move, but have any of his, ahem, enlightened callers brought it up this past week?
