We have a lot JUCO's on campus this weekend. If we can get a few of these that we're high on it could make a big difference. To further your point, one of the things that hurt us last year was losing the 2 LB juco recruits from Gulf Coast to MTSU. When I watched our game they called his name every other play. It wasn't just that he was making plays against us that hurt but the fact that he wasn't making plays for us. We might be better off in the long because we picked up Sangster instead and he has the potential to be really good but you can't start a true freshmen at MLB.

That was the position that hurt us the most. JUCO transfer Anderson played well until he got hurt. Once he was gone we had a hard time stopping anybody's running game.

Monken has to fix the offense. At least with Fedora, when our defense sucked, his offense outscored teams. We haven't been able to do that at all under Monken.

Defense could use an improvement as well.

Lfed had a lot more to work with than TM has had. I think when he has more to work with and he will next year it will click as well as Fedoras.

Sorry X, many posted your type prediction after we beat UAB to end the year last year. We won 3 games this year. I can't see the reason for the sunshine pumping myself. Monken has proven he is clueless as a HC and our team is comprised of at best mediocre FCS players. I see 4 wins at best next year.

Hope USM does and maybe even more. You guys showed a bunch of improvement this season, can't wait till you get back where you were, CUSA needs a good USM football program.

USM football is irrelevant. Some USM fans are still living in the past and don't want to face the reality of where USM football is and is headed to. I seriously doubt USM fields a winning team in the next several years. It was a great ride for an older alum like me. I saw the mountain tops. Now today's young fans will just see the valley's.

Eagle Rock stop that talk, you know the situation with the scholarships you know how that affects depth. Many who watched us play saw potential. I share some of your thoughts on Monken but I do think he's got our program going in the right direction

There's only one championship I count, and I see no evidence anyone at USM is interested in pursuing it.

EagleRockCafe's words are harsh, but they reflect the real nature of the status quo.

The only hope I see for real change is for a really visionary leader to step up and say "we deserve a seat at the table, and we're coming to get it." Rodney Bennett could say that, and back it up with commentary about who we are and what we do for our athletes and our local area versus Ole Miss or Bama. He's not talking about this, though, probably because he was warned against showing any ambition when he was hired and acceded to that. He'll no doubt reap his reward, in the form of a real university presidency outside of the Deep South and CUSA.

Hope you are right, but from everything I see from support, coaching and recruiting, it just isn't there right now. I lived and died for USM football for most of my adult life. Now, it is all memories. The group that murdered USM football got their way and this is what they wrought. Hope they are happy.

What's sad is that there are definitely people who are getting exactly what they want, except that eventually they want to see 6-7 wins against bad teams per year instead of 2-3. These people don't want USM to be a real major university because that would reduce their own participation/influence.
