I worked for a moving company out of Sycamore during college, and happened to pack/move the Compher family after he got hired by ECU. Going into the job I was pissed because he was leaving, but he and his family were extremely nice people. I was also totally overwhelmed by the amount of Huskie gear he had in his house, let alone his personal office. Seriously...he had an entire room full of memorabilia signed by every player imaginable during his tenure. Also, his kid's rooms...pretty much wall to wall Huskie stuff. It was cool to see.
I think Frazier is a much better AD, and I'm glad he's here. But, after that experience, I've had a sot spot for Compher. It certainly seemed like he was 100% dedicated to NIU while he was here.
Was it Allied Blue Van & Storage owned by Tom?

I am not a large and wealthy donar but I have attended enough MACC games, SF games etc that my wife and I have had the opportunity to speak with Jeff on a number of occasions. He always took the time to speak with us and he was always polite and personable.
He did some things better than others. For example, I will always be thankful for the coaches that he hired. He also did an outstanding job with the IPF. On the other hand Frazier has done a much better job with scheduling.
Like all of us he has his strengths and weaknesses. Being an AD at a MAC school in a state that is in financial distress means that you are trying to strive for excellence with a limited budget. I will always be thankful for the job that Jeff Compher did while at NIU

Agreed. Aside from the fascination with scheduling Idaho, he did an excellent job maintaining the momentum after Kill left for Minnesota by hiring Doeren, and having the balls to hand the team over to Carey. And the IPF was funded and built under his watch.

And Nebraska away games. I know those are money makers, but...
