UCF to Miami?
Does UCF's successful Hail Mary that gives them a share of the Championship propel them to the Miami Bowl and send us to Birmingham?

No, they already played BYU and beat them.

UCF vs. Miami in the BitCoin St. Petersburg Bowl is a popular pick.

It could still be 'co-champ' Cincy for that matter...

Cincy vs BYU...I'd watch that.

RE: UCF to Miami?
UCF fans prefer St Pete because it's an ACC opponent on Friday night, but Miami would be okay too since we've already been to St Pete twice.

If we end up in Miami then someone else is going to St Pete so either way someone has to travel down here. I think Cincy vs BYU makes the most sense.

Congrats again fellow co-champions! It's nice knowing that Houston is going to have some good competition in the AAC-West. Good luck and I hope you get the Bham bowl!

ECU - Military vs ACC
UCF - St Pete vs ACC
Memphis - Birmingham vs SEC
Cincy - Miami Beach vs BYU

Those are all solid match-ups for our 4 best teams...that's why it'll never happen, lol

You've also got Houston and most likely Temple eligible.

Houston is likely headed to the Armed Forces Bowl (in Fort Worth)...against the Big 12...unless...well...I'm just sayin...05-stirthepot

RE: UCF to Miami?
I just don't think UH or Temple are 'best teams' in the AAC...to me that's clearly Mem, Cincy, UCF, and ECU bringing up the rear.

RE: UCF to Miami?
Well, we will find out about how good Houston is this weekend.

I was merely adding the 1, likely 2, bowl eligible teams to that list.

I'm just happy we're in a league that will have more than its allotment of bowl teams.

I'm sure this has probably been mentioned but in light of all the Big 12 talk it would sure be nice to take BYU to the woodshed in front of a national audience. Would go a long way toward improving perception of our football program.

Agree...that might be the perfect "regional" line up for the AAC.

RE: UCF to Miami?
I think that regional approach makes sense, but that doesn't mean that is how it will be negotiated with the various AD's, Aresco, and TV folks.

I imagine the co-champions (MEMPHIS and UCF, and possibly UC) will have more say in their preferences of a bowl destination. There are two Florida bowl destinations, and you can bet those are highly desired.

Other factors that come into play:
1. Of the three co-champions, there was only one head to head match up. The TIGERS won at Cincinnati 41-14. UCF didn't play either UC or MEMPHIS.
2. UCF played BYU in the regular season and beat them.
3. MEMPHIS has the higher ranking of the three teams in the power ratings.

Bottom line? I will not be surprised at all to see MEMPHIS at Miami, UCF at St. Petersburg, and Cincinnati in either Birmingham or Annapolis.

It's all good. I just enjoy MEMPHIS being in this co-champion bowl discussion. Regardless of where the AAC teams are slotted, I want all of them to win their game.
