This game is pretty painful to watch. I find myself sort of pulling for Illinois for obvious reasons, but they are just flat out not a very good team. Cubit seems to have done a decent job re-vamping their offense, but they still don't have a good QB, and that makes it really tough. There are some nice individual pieces and pockets of talent on Illinois' roster, but still a pretty long ways to go. I don't know if Beckman makes it past next season.

We actually recruited OToole pretty hard.

I don't know why O'Toole is playing. Lunt and Bailey, I think, are both better QB's.

I think they underutilize their running backs too. Young and Ferguson are explosive players. Haven't seen much of them.

I'm also rooting for Illinois. I was thinking, in 2016, when we go to Illinois. That maybe a very winnable game.

I don't get why he's playing over Lunt, but I'm not sure Bailey is a fit for the throw every play offense of Cubit.

Would love to see him in NIU's offense, though.

Why didn't Illinois kick the field goal there? Maybe because their kicker has totally blown chunks... but it seems like their odds would be a whole lot better kicking the field goal and going down 35-21, and then doing the first of two onside kicks. Moot point now I guess.

Agreed, would have tripled their chance to win.

1% to 3%

Underutilized running backs... In Bill Cubit's offense? Shocking.

Lunt suffered serious shoulder (I think) injury in early October, probably rusty and not 100% healthy.
