Actually I think most fans would rather go to B'ham, but the players want to go to Miami and face BYU. In B'ham we would probably face a SEC school.

I hate what happened to you guys and I hope you destroy someone in your Bowl game.

It has been announced that UAB will not play in a bowl.

That sucks.

I am sorry you all got royally screwed, and doubly sorry it was by those Alabama rednecks.

But if you do not see Memphis as a fun destination, football game or not, you ain't been to Memphis....and Beale Street....and South Main...and Overton Square....and Cooper-Young...and the Poplar corridor restaurants. Memphis is a prime destination for tourists from all over the country and all over the world. Elvis stuff, and the blues bands all over town, 200 downtown restaurants....come on up. You will have a blast. COGS

Tough break for some good kids as far as the football program's fate. Good time would be had by all if there was one last Battle for the Boner. But realistically, I don't see it happening.

Been there and I love Beale Street... Just not the Liberty bowl (which you guys don't like, right?).

Thanks for the input guys!

I'm excited for Birmingham if that's the place, but I also don't want to be UAB's last opponent. I want you guys to go out with a win. 03-wink

It has been announced that UAB will not play in a bowl.

No it hasn't. That said, it would be a long shot. CUSA has five tie ins and five teams with better records than UAB. Those five teams are obligated by CUSA bylaws to be placed in CUSA contracted bowls.

UAB would need to fill an at large or back up bowl agreement spot. They have a backup agreement with the New Orleans bowl this year. If the Mt. West can not fill that spot this year, that would be a possible destination. There are other possibilities, but that one seems the most likely.

I have heard that the team will meet to decide to play or not in the event of a bowl invitation.

Football is killed effective 12/15...which means no monies can be allocated toward FB, no insurance, etc.

They can't play in a bowl game, or have any further football activities.

It includes Austin Peay, Middle Tennessee State, East Tennessee State, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech and, of course, The University of Memphis. Along with several community colleges and other institutes of higher learning. The University of Tennessee is probably just like the University of Alabama and is in control of their satellite campuses like UT Chattanooga and UA Birmingham.

UTC was able to drop the UT in their name and can now call themselves Chattanooga.

And, by the way, on Nov 2nd the Lady Mocs beat the 4th-ranked Lady Vols 67-63.
