Dave Hart(UT AD) has said that CUSA is on the hook to provide an opponent for the UAB game in Nashville. He also said our commish has agreed to move schedules to accommodate. So which one of us is it? Talk radio in Nashville this a.m. and twitter was abuzz that it should be us. I don't think that'll happen but does
s anybody other than us have a hole in their schedule?

Rice still has one spot to fill next year, but we also have games scheduled at Texas and at Baylor. Would love to pick up the Tennessee game and drop Baylor.

That would make our ooc 2.5 sec schools and a B1G school. Can't see it. I think it would count as a home game though so it would probably boost season tix.

I hope it isn't us. UT will score 100 points on our defense.

Hell, do we get paid?

We will probably lose no matter who it is, so may as well get paid to do it.

If we can play it a different day, I would LOVE for the Herd to kick out FCS team to the curb and nab the Volunteers.

No, the Baylor game is part of a 4 year, 2 home, 2 away series. Keep it.

So much to gain, so little to lose for us. Hope the financials are right for us to move a game to accomodate.

RE: Tennessee
Seems like it would have made more sense for TN to pick up one of the Sunbelt teams that was also scheduled to play UAB. They sure won't be able to play one another already being in the same conference. If TN is the one trying to force it, I hope dearly that they end up facing MTSU since they seem to want nothing to do with them otherwise.

If we play Tennessee, Alabama and Vandy in the same year do we get a share of the $EC welfare check?

Yeah, unless CUSA somehow is involved with the Tennessee Sports Council in setting up the game in Nashville, I have no idea. Might just be UTK's administration yelling and screaming and CUSA helping out just to be in good graces.

Who does MT have for the first game? Since the game's in Nashville, you'd think you guys would be all over this if it's possible to make it happen.

Our out of conference schedule is full next year already. Two SEC teams would be way too much for our first FBS season anyway.
