Let me word that differently...They can, but they won't with what's still on the books. Not without pulling it from somewhere other than the athletic department...which has been denied.

His buyout is small. They have the money, and from what I have been told, were going to fire him. Had the paperwork all done. Then he went out and beat PSU and Northwestern and showed the year-over-year improvement the AD was looking for.

Like you said, we can agree to disagree. It's irrelevant at this point anyway, he's back for better or (most likely) worse.
