Premium is finally coming down a little. Paid $2.73 last week compared to $3.09 the week before. It had been stuck at $3.09 since Halloween.

RE: $2 gas is here!
Paid 1.99 today across the SC border. There was a ten minute wait at the pump. People like me from NC were flooding the stations along the border to beat the NC gas tax. I was heading to Myrtle Beach anyway..but..I saved about 10 bucks on the fill up over last year. Topped off on the return trip also.

Used my Kroger card and got gas for $1.90/gallon tonight. I was born in the 60's and remember the 70's quite well. We are headed for trouble. Somebody is going to play the oil card and when they do, economies are going to crash.

RE: $2 gas is here!
What I find most interesting is that this is EXACTLY what the "Drill, baby, drill," people were predicted would happen if we ramped up domestic production, while Obama was telling us to inflate our tires. So who was right?
It's kind of like the economy. We were still pretty much in the doldrums through 2009 and 2010, despite all the stimulus spending. Then republicans took over the house, and people could see that things were not going to get more stupid, so that could plan for the future, and unemployment began to drop and growth got a bit more robust. Again, Obama tries to take credit.
On both issues, the republicans should be taking credit instead of picking nits to blame Obama. But they have their heads so far up their asses that all they can see is gay marriage and abortion.

The energy sector has been keeping the national economy afloat since 08. If it dies, expect to see the chickens from 08 come home to roost.
The good news, much of US production thanks to fraking will drie up in the next year. Those fields, like Eagleford, lose 50-75% of their production in a year without new capital investment. That should drive prices back up.
It will hurt domestic production in the oil industry. It is a strong positive for just about every other industry. It is a net positive economically by a long shot.
It would be if our entire system wasn't feeding on energy production right now, which it is and has been doing since 08.
This has the potential to bring down the whole economy.
How did we ever survive with <$1.00 before the 2005 hurricane season?

RE: $2 gas is here!
We finally reached $1.99 all over Dallas earlier this week. I bet my family in Connecticut is still paying $2.50 or $2.60, but even that's really good.
It would be sweet if it ever got to 99 cents.

We are still in the $2.30s for regular. Not sure what is going on... we are usually the cheapest in the country other than South Carolina.

I'm still paying over $3 for premium even though regular is $2.40. What's up with that?

Anywhere from 2.14 to 254 here in the city. Just a matter of time before the wholesale clubs hit 1.99

RE: $2 gas is here!
I've seen 2.30's in Charlotte.
Now that I'm saving 5 or 6 dollars a month in fuel costs, how should I spend my new found wealth?

You only consume 3 gallons of gasoline per month (gas was near $4 six months ago)?

I'm exaggerating, but I probably only use 10-15 gallons per month.
I'm not even sure the last time I put gas in my tank. Two weeks ago maybe? Probably have another week and a half or two left.

I don't use much anymore either now that my little one is in Kindergarten (his preschool was about 15 minutes or so out of the way). Not sure how much it is saving me as I usually just put $20 in the tank when I get low. The $20 is definitely doing much more now though. It has to be a welcome relief for someone that commutes 30 miles in traffic to work though.

taxes?
I always fill up in VA when heading down to NC because the NC gas tax is so high.
