UPDATE: I have direct knowledge that a major mover from outside Alabama in Congress is watching this, but he can't really act unless our state delegation presses him to do so. So please, call your congressmen and senators today and urge them to act. Ask them to call the governor and encourage him to clean up the corruption and move the Board to reverse the decision.

Remember, this also goes on record for later. Every call to your congressman is logged. We want there to be a record of voter unrest on this matter.

Guys, this is an opportunity to take the corruption to a national spotlight, particularly with all the national attention on our program today.

Ask our Alabama legislators what kind of mismanagement is happening in UA system, when the president of its most profitable institution is forced to do something like this. If the medical school is struggling that bad, why? If the federal dollars for research have dried up, why?

Also, stress to each of them that the state, and central Alabama in particular, are going to suffer greatly because of what is happening at UAB.

Contact both senators and your appropriate legislator. If I still lived there, I would call, but they only want to hear from their constituents.

I am making the call, but I truly hate that the above has to happen first. When you see wrong address it. Out state delegation is part of the problem.

Spencer Bachus (6th) is retiring, so won't do good to call him. Gary Palmer won his seat last month and will be representing the 6th in the next Congress.

What can those of us out of state do? I'm not above calling and saying I'm a constituent but I'm sure my area code will give me away.

This action has to happen TODAY. not with the January delegation, with the outgoing group. CALL TODAY. MOVE TODAY. Otherwise, we lose any chance at momentum.

By January, no one will care. Palmer isn't the person to talk to. It's the present membership. Action needs to happen NOW.

Hey whatever works, but I have serious doubts that most of our congressional delegation will be excited to having a congressional committee investigate the University of Alabama System and how the BOT is trying to suppress UAB in favor of its sacred cow university. And almost most certainly they won't want to have a discussion of how the federal government research grants that might have gone to UAB were cut.

Yes!!!!!! This has to spread all over the Blazer followers. It's time to communicate messages to all that will listen whether on Blazertalk or elsewhere.
