Memphis right now reminds me of UK during the Billie Gillispsi era...

UK for years tried to stomach Billie while they spurn the potentially NCAA infraction prone Calipari (who has stated he tried many times to gain UK's attention for employment....even calling his wife on occasions to see if they have called yet for a possible interview).

Eventually, UK "sold their soul" and Cal was given the keys to the mothership. The rest is history as UK has arisen from the ashes and are now THE program again winning all types of accolades and a title in 2012.

So far, no infractions have occured and UK seems to only get stronger while Memphis on the other hand seems to be a team with one wheel spinning circles and getting Skal'd.

Cal is to UK what Bruce Pearl could be to Memphis.


Will Memphis go the UK route or stand pat... that is the question.

Btw, I'm ready to RIOT one day so I'm all for Pearl'in it.

I like it. We hired cal knowing what we were getting. Pearl is guilty of less.

If we are going to riot, let's do it before Christmas and let's make sure a Best Buy is on the list.

BTW, we missed on BRUCE PEARL my sources say he really wanted to coach Memphis, but Josh was just blowin out the competion every game, well how is that working out PEARL haters?

It's gonna take a Bruce Pearl type hire to breath life into this program. I don't think this fanbase has the patience for a 3 year rebuilding program.

The Pearl lovers should solicit Dick's Sporting Goods to buy out Pastner's contract and hire Pearl. They will make their money back in a month in knee pad sales alone.

I think the sunshine pumpers bought all the knee pads years ago

Agree. I think Pearl could work pretty well with the talent we have. We may not would win the AAC, but I believe we would be competitive every game.

Pearl won't be there long. He will end up at a school where basketball is king....that ain't Auburn. The timing for Pearl to Memphis may not be right....but if Pastner goes after this year, we would be crazy not to make a serious run at him.

Pearl would jump after two years. Shoulda hired him when Cal left. Heard he was waiting for a call in Detroit from RC that never came from a reliable source
