Not if the conference we move to offers the sport. They have to go with us.

Correct. Which, as stated above, the Sun Belt does. I didn't even know Hartwick was a D1 school.

Been a fan of UAB soccer before there was even a club football team. I am so disappointed that Coach Getman has stayed silent over the last few weeks. He and Coach Townsend were the only two coaches left hired by Coach Bartow. She has stood tall and proudly proclaimed her love of UAB, the Bartows, and the Blazers. Where is Getman? As senior men's coach at UAB he should be a leader in the fight to keep football.

When the soccer stadium was announced, I knew the $1.5 million from BBVA wouldn't cover all of it. Now I see where the rest will come from.

I've wanted that soccer stadium for so long and now it will be very hard to go there. Sickening.

I hate the bastards that did this with all my heart.

Is it possible that the men's coaches could not speak up for some reason?

I know Coach Shoop has attended games & Coach Haase kind of spoke up a week or so ago.

Do we even need a new soccer field now? Getman is probably sick about the drop in quality of competition headed our way.

The best UAB athletics can possibly hope for is the CAA.

Its not. It only plays D1 at Men's Soccer and one Women's sport that I don't know.

Sun Belt only sponsors Men's Soccer out of necessity. SoCon kicked out the Soccer programs at Georgia Southern and App State after they announced for FBS. Georgia State was already independent. Sun Belt started Men's Soccer as a favor to the 3 schools to keep their programs from having to play as an independent. Howard, NJIT, and Hartwick happened to be independent as well, so we brought them on.

No other SBC school offers Men's Soccer.
