Why not UAB?

I'm not trolling, but would love to see sides to this (Since there's always a UMass thread coming up here so often).

I would vote hell no...

They don't have support from the people who run the univ or the BOT...

WSU would be a better pick.

Too bad they lost their footballish program.

I feel for them, but they wouldnt increase the TV contract at all and we would have to then take a pay cut to do it. It simply isnt worth it.

Down the road, if BYU, Boise St, CSU and Air Force want to come. Well then theres a package that moves the needle for us and I am all for it.

Simple rule of thumb. If they cant add money, then we dont want them.

I had the same thought. The tragic thing (for UAB) is, the same people who sabotaged the Blazer football program (BOT, Watts, Mackin) are -- still -- running the other sports, too. How do you build trust with people like that?

I really do feel UAB's pain. Much more so than I expected to. But the harsh facts are that we cannot save them and they do not solve any of our problems.
