Based on other trips with the Bank Of Bartlett, I am expecting this to cost $2500 to $3000 for the wife and myself. That includes 2 hotel nights, air fare, and ground transfers to and from the airport and the game. Strictly a guess, but we'll see.
Edit: Some google research shows my initial estimate is too high. NCAA trips have cost less than $2000 per couple in the past. More like $1500 to $2000 per couple.
That's fine for those who can afford first-class accommodations and I appreciate The Bank of Bartlett's efforts as always. However, my research shows that my wife and I can go for about $1200 for a less fancy stay and that's what we will need to do after already spending for the Los Angeles and New Orleans trips. Moreover, it behooves the university to somehow put together an even more affordable "poor-man's package" for those fans and students who want to go and are willing to skip the frills. We need as many Tiger fans down there as possible, even our "unwashed masses" contingent.

What are the particulars here, GA? Does that include rental car or taxi fare, etc? PM me or e-mail if you would not mind sharing info on hotel and airfare, etc. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure the e-mail said ground transfers from the airport to hotel, and leaving for Memphis after the game.

Under $1,500 isn't too bad. Trip sounds doable if going to Miami

Looks like you're initial estimate was right in the ball park.

Perhaps, but the fat lady hasn't sung yet. Did you notice this statement in yesterday's CA Sports section?
"Tonight's Central Florida @ East Carolina game could bring the UofM's bowl destination into focus. If ECU topples UCF, then only Cincinnati, with a win at home Saturday against Houston, can tie the UofM for the league title.......giving UofM the inside track at the Miami Beach Bowl."
ECU did NOT win and we do not have any "inside track". Furthermore, the bowls and the AAC office have at least as much to say about where we play as we do. If maximizing attendance is much of a priority, I think Birmingham is still pretty much in the picture.
