RE: Johnson and Dec. 6th Bradley Game
Can yall tell me what you see in Pookie?

Kedren is the best PG on the team by a large margin.

Yes the out of shape, rusty Kedren Johnson. It hurts but the truth.

And Markel needs to watch Geron Johnson tape b/c that's what he could be.

Let Kedren play, he's out of shape but the only one that knows how to play PG

He at least has a track record

Why is that? He got us the lead against Baylor then hardly played in the second half

have you even been watching the games? I don't care about what Kedren once was. I know what he's been so far for us and it's been deplorable.

Kedren makes plays when he first gets in the game, then after about 2 or 3 trips down the court he gets tired and starts screwing up. When he is fresh he is the best pg on the team by a large margin.

If he were in shape there would be no question that he should be the starter and get the majority of the minutes.

But he's not in shape.

At all.

He looks 3rd best to me at any time...Pook, Crawford, then Kedren right now

RE: Johnson and Dec. 6th Bradley Game
Pookie jacks up bad shots early in the shot clock, Crawford has no ability to penetrate, all three of them turn the ball over. Both Pookie and Crawford take too long to initiate the offense and get us into a set. Dont know why everybody is only focusing on Kedren's shortcommings when all three leave something to be desired.

I said in another thread after the Witchita State game that if Kedren was not going to be ready from the start we should have passed on him and invested in the growth of the young guys. But I'm not going to act like he hasn't shown ANYTHING in the minutes he has played. It is apparent to me that he is a skilled point guard, just way out of shape.

true, but Pookie is often out of position defensively, picks up his dribble often, and made at least 3 very lazy passes last night that were picked off. He makes things happen, but he's not the answer, yet. I expect if we are still mediocre mid year, Pookie will be play major minutes, take his lumps, and learn for next year.

Jacks up shots? He shot 2 last night and one of those was a drive where he got slaughtered with no call. The other was a 3 when we were down double digits. How many stupid shots did Woodson Jack up?

still out of shape, and his ballhandling skills seem below average still. He's likely the primary point soon, if he can get in shape.

Until Josh understands that Powell is your point guard, the massive troubles will continue.
Stick with him, let him make mistakes and play through it.

Well, according to Johnson himself all of these issues will be magically resolved by Saturday.

Not that numbers are the end all be all, but Kedren is 1-10 from the field this year with five assists, one rebound, seven fouls and 10 turnovers.

So what are you talking about then? The two minutes he played vs Indiana St or the 2 minutes he played in the second half against Baylor? Because he looked a lot better than anyone else we had in there in the first half of the Baylor game. Markel should be the 2 over Woodson the human foul. He might foul more than any perimeter player in history. James Harris thinks he fouls too much.

I still have no idea how Pookie ended up on the bench for the Baylor second half after how well he played in the first half.

I am convinced under Pastner, the likes of D Rose and Tyreke would be riding the pine because they both looked rough at the beginning of their time here. Heaven knows Pastner does not let guys play through mistakes...

Totally agree. Hell, I can't comprehend why he started Markel at the point guard spot. He's not a point guard.

He's never played PG in life, not at any level
