RE: Playoff Committee Week 15 Rankings
Has anybody heard anything about where the playoff committee says we stand and the other possible group of 5 conference champions stand behind Boise if they get upset??

I don't know but it's a bad sign when the AP has not only Boise, but Marshall, Memphis, Colorado State, and Air Force ranked higher then NIU.

Here's a scenario. What if Baylor and TCU both win big and OSU and FSU are both beaten? Since the Big 12 named TCU and Baylor Co-Big 12 champions would they both make the playoffs? I don't really see how they couldn't in that scenario.

I'm not sure what your asking here. You don't have to win your conference to make the playoff, so yeah obviously TCU and Baylor would make it.

I don't know but it's a bad sign when the AP has not only Boise, but Marshall, Memphis, Colorado State, and Air Force ranked higher then NIU.

Colorado St and Air Force being ranked is irrelevant. Only the conference champ from the MWC can be considered for the Access Bowl spot.

As are the AP rankings themselves.

BCS rankings would have had the same top 4 - just in a different order. Bama, FSU, UO, TCU

Yes, but perception is important with the playoff committee. I think the AP poll gives us a glimpse of how the NIU program is perceived nationally. I think it's fairly telling when the Huskies standing in that poll is very weak even at 10-2.

I find it interesting that the Big 12 could benefit from not having a conference championship game. If they had a conference championship Baylor and TCU would likely play each other, thus eliminating one from a playoff spot.

Plus 2 Big 12 teams in the playoffs would be the fastest way to expand these playoffs.
