Like maybe a COMMISSIONER?

Y'all want us to start a petition? :)

Haha. Nice.

Hate to see a 7-5 team sitting at home. Maybe a conference rule similar to what C-USA has could be in place to avoid this in the future. All teams with winning records must be placed in a bowl before considering a 6-6 team. Good luck to the Bobcats on getting an at-large somewhere.

Haha funny! I just know TXST fans have been very classy throughout this process when some fanbases could have been bitter and petty. I'm at the USA basketball game right now but will wait on chiefs' list and help bombard the bowls' social media accounts.
Except the fan that tweeted our quarterback that he'd be at home watching Txst go bowling.

Edit: I should have read the entire thread.

Not to be cold, but if the SB put a 6-6 team over Tx St. in a bowl, do you really expect AF to turn down a P5 at-large if available? I believe PAC12 and SEC may have extra teams, the ACC may have an extra team if SEC moves up in the final rankings over Mich State for the opposing Orange slot.

As long as Alabama makes the Final Four, the SEC will not have extra. They've got 11 bowls and 12 eligible teams.

You are right about that. UTEP brought about that same number to Boise's bowl game back in 2000. But in the Houston Bowl in 2004 UTEP traveled close to 20k and that's a long haul from El Paso. For the even closer bowl in NM in 2010 UTEP took over 12k for a 6-6 team. UTEP shows up very well at venues within 10-12 hours drive. Ft Worth on Jan 2nd we would have a very large contingent there. You might have more since you are a lot closer, I don't know.

Good numbers, but I have no doubt that TXST would bring 12K+ to fort worth also.

I'm pretty sure there is not a 6-6 C-USA team in consideration and while UTEP is 7-5 I think the Miners are a lock for the NM Bowl vs a MWC team. Rice and LT are likely the only C-USA teams that the AF Bowl would want. However it works out I hope a 7-5 Texas St team gets a bowl.

Yes, most TexState fans are some of the classiest. Here is wishing for them an invitation to the Heart of Dallas or whatever bowl that will give them the opportunity. They certainly deserve it.

RE: Texas State Fans
You have all been awesome and we appreciate the support!!!!! For the players I hope we can get into a game. They deserve it!!

From what I'm hearing the decision is going to come down to if the MWC is going to send a team to new orleans or not because they are going to take the Cactus bowl. Cajun fans send your Administration emails that you want to see the cajuns against the mwc and not a CUSA team! (MTSU, WKU, or Rice) This would give us a shot at either Idaho, Hawaii, or Albuquerque. Frankly I don't care which one!

That basically means, if they don't send the #6/#7 MWC team to NOLA to play y'all, the CUSA has a back up to the NOLA bowl and you'll be playin WKU/MTSU/Rice

If they do send them, We would take their spot in Albuquerque and MTSU would be out of a bowl at 6-6...

WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!

Looks like the ice is getting thin. OU must win Saturday and the SEC needs to put Alabama in the playoff and two teams in the "BCS" bowls. Otherwise Florida needs a bowl and no way we get placed over them.

It wont be the Armed Forces. CUSA has the backup there behind the Big-12/Big-10. If I had to guess, I think the Bobcats best shot will be in Boise. They need to hope Boise gets the G5 access bowl slot and that the Cactus Bowl needs to use thier MW backup option. Those two events are pretty likley. If that happens, the Potato Bowl will be open against a MAC team. Thats where I think the Bobcats will have a good shot. That said--you never know. There is a lot of horse trading that goes on. Plus, this is the first year of the new bowl agreements. There could be a lot of behind the scenes backups and exceptions that have not been made public yet. Those types of things can change the picture as well.

This is false. The B12 is the backup. There is no backup to the backup. Whoever is stating that is wrong.

I found the source. CUSA has a secondary agreement with the Armed Forces Bowl, however, it does not specify as to weather or not the agreement applies to this season. The fact that its not specifically mentioned doesn't preclude it from being viable this season--as you will notice, there is also no mention of any 2014 CUSA backup agreement to the NOLA Bowl, yet we now know that actually does exist. Apparently Banowsky has been quietly hard at work trying to find niches for his teams to slip into.

At the end of the day, all these bowls are willing to negotiate with each other if it means putting more money in their pockets, that's also where an aggressive commissioner helps a lot

Spoke to a source close to the athletic department today and asked what the outlook actually was on chances of getting a bowl and the source stated "wasn't at liberty to divulge sensitive information as we are still in talks with several bowls" which is understandable but they also assured me "Dr teis is working his rear end off to get us into a bowl"....which is the part that scared me the most. But idk

They also emphasized the lack of attendance to our home games throughout the season as to why we got passed up for the sun belt tie ins...which is kind of a bs excuse for us not getting a tie in as USA did not have a stellar home attendance to say the least. No offense though.
