we already have Wilkes but he is more of a James White type player then a big so I don't really count him...

Possibilities-either PF or C
Yancey Gates
Macolm White
Will Brown
Xavier Gibson
Tony Woods

who are some of the other prospects out there...

You can cross 2-3 of those players off of your list.

So I'm guessing...cut out #1 Tony Woods for sure, #2 Will Brown, and maybe Xavier Gibson as a possible third???

There's a chance you could cut out 1 to 3 of those players. Or possibly none.

He sounds like a tall SG to me. Also read he can hit the three pretty good.

If we don't get a big man, I want a perimeter threat. And if this kid can slash along with shoot from outside............sign him up now.

I'm going by what his AAU and HS coaches have both told people, including what his HS coach told a Rivals writer very recently.

Todd,
C'mon now, is it really a good idea to talk like you know this for sure?

If you think it is, that is fine, go right ahead. But expect some pretty major criticism when your "done deal" type calls don't pan out, while UC continues to sign people that aren't even listed as having an offer on Rivals.

Nothing is ever a done deal when it comes to recruiting until the player signs the LOI.

If you are a member of BCL and you read the War Room this week you know which players I am talking about when I say you can take 2-3 off the list.

I spoke to a few players on that list this week so I have first hand knowledge as to what they are thinking when it comes to their recruitment as of today.

Recruiting is very fluid and recruits change their minds all the time. All I do is report what I am told when I am told it. It is not my fault that sometimes things change.

Now I could keep everything to myself until a player signed his LOI but that would make life and message boards rather boring dont you think?

I completely agree, but i think what people are taking issue with here is the fact that there was a post made by someone who runs a recruiting site and should know what they are talking about in regards to a more or less done deal recruit for the class of '07. It would be one thing if the poster said there was a good chance and then let it go but i have read many posts by this poster stating that it was more or less a done deal and if you're going to continue to rehash something and back your original comment then if it doesn't come to fruition or looks to start falling apart you better be ready to take some flack...no one is right all the time, but that does not absolve anyone from catching criticism.

It's fine to mention something casually i mean hell I've mentioned things about recruits that i thought would sign or felt sure would sign and have been wrong many times. Just don't go parading it around and acting like it's a for sure thing (even if u dont say it is) especially when you're one of the members that people respect and tend to believe because we all know a parade is not a parade without fireworks...good or bad ;-)
