Last time we had a coach with such a "structured" offense his name was Moe Iba. He wasted good talent (Mike Butler particularly) because he had tunnel vision relative to style of play...and he didn't last very long because the fans were turned off by the style & the losses.

I really hated Moe. Butler was truly one of the best we ever had.
